Helen Mirren has won an Oscar, multiple Emmys and several Golden Globes, but there’s one thing still on her bucket list.

“My great ambition is to be in a Fast and Furious movie,” she told Yahoo. “I so want to be a mad driver in a Fast and Furious movie. My claim to fame is I always do my own driving — I was on Top Gear, and I did [my lap] in a very good time.”

quote:

“I have to say Vin Diesel is brilliant,” she continued. “I love Vin Diesel. He’s a great guy, smart — I love him. It’s partly because of him I’d like to be in one, but also the driving. I’d also love to do another Red-type movie, because those are such fun to do.”

Furious 7 hasn’t even opened yet, but when your movie is tracking to break box office records, you can be forgiven for jumping the gun a little bit. And that’s exactly what franchise stalwart Vin Diesel just did, dropping a few tidbits about what we can expect from Fast & Furious 8, including a new location and a beefed up role for one new character.

I say figure out a way to let her do it.

She was brilliant in the Red movies.

Let her be some sort of classic car dealer or something... or run a high-end chop shop.

Love Helen Mirren.

They could easily write her in as a mentor type for one of the newer characters.

Isn't there a black guy with a Brit accent in the mix now? Make her his adoptive Mom.

Done and done.

At what point do they stop making these movies?

Any of these factors....

1.) When they stop making money due to lack of demand.

2.) become too cost prohibitive to make due to set problems, location or gov't regulation.

3.) It's getting too much bad press or someone important is in a scandal.

They are in the early prep stages to shoot 8 and 9 b2b in Miami and Atlanta (where most of 7 was filmed) ... Cameras won't likely roll until early 16

They eventually stopped making Friday the 13th movies, or at least went on the shelf for quite a while. Outside of the Bourne movies, fast cars and chases aren't really the staple they once were, Fast and Furious fills a niche that is now under served.
