Are either worth a watch?

Rome could've been great if they didn't have to accelerate the timeline so much bc they got cancelled, still a good show though

I like Rome more (by a decent margin), but if you pick up Leftovers now, you could finish in time for S3.

But yes, both are absolutely worth a watch. The first 3 or 4 episodes are REALLY slow (it doesn't pick up until the priest episode), but still solid. Rome hits the ground running.

Rome's 1st season and the Leftovers' 2nd season are both pretty perfect.

IMO when the choices involve the Leftovers, I will chose the other show 100% of the time. That is one stupid arse show.

1.) Game of Thrones Season 6
2.) The Wire Season 3
3.) Game of Thrones Season 1
4.) Rome Season 1
5.) The Sopranos Season 3 (or 5...can't remember )

That oughta tell you were it rates in the Pantheon of HBO series.

I only saw first season of leftovers and thought it was an awful depressing show

I prefer Rome because I love Titus Pullo and lucius Vorenus but The Leftovers is a pretty darn good show as well.
Watch both

Hello. Rome season 2 is waving at you. It was far more depressing then 2 seasons of leftovers.

Thanks for the replies. Guess I'm going to check out season 1 of Rome first. I'm a big history person so it appeals to me more. I don't know if it's historically accurate, but I guess I'll find out.

Rome is good. As said, it gets rushed at the end because it got cancelled but still quality.

Rome yes for sure if you're into history or that era at all.

I gave up on the Leftovers halfway through the first season which was horrible. Supposedly they changed directions and got better but I was already a goner.

Leftovers is,in my opinion, the most underrated show on TV.

Season 2 is some of the best television I've ever seen, IMO.

I was gonna say... Rome always had humor sprinkled throughout, but S2 was dark as frick.

The Leftovers is some of the best television going. Last season was spectacular. I never tried Rome so I can't say it is better but I can say that I recommend Leftovers.

Just finished watching the two seasons of the Leftovers. Definitely worth a watch - especially if you like strange plot lines.
