You quit after Ep 5? That's funny because Ep 6 is when it makes a turn for the best. I'd recommend rewatching and finishing the first season. Yeah, the first five episodes are meh but it makes a 180 after that.

That reminds me of when Patriots fans turned off the Super Bowl at the end of the 3rd qtr.....

The Leftovers is terrific. I didn't like it on the first try either; bailed after 4 or 5 episodes. Glad I gave it another go, b/c from the back end of season 1 through season 2 it is really really good - a rich, deep, tightly produced, unique experience.

Rome is worth a watch, too, but I found it ultimately pretty forgettable.
