Fwiw Everything thing I’ve read review wise say it’s the blandest Netflix algorithm movie to date.

I’d probably just wait a week when it hits Netflix if I were you

ETA also it sounds like the Russo Bros are actively trying to stop better movies from being made. So frick the Russo bros

There’s a reason Netflix held the reviews until the movie was released

Seems it’s highly forgettable yet expensive

Like most Netflix things they put out

It’s almost impressive how they are able to take good ingredients for a movie (strong actors, directors, usually really great production value and set pieces, etc) and turn it into a film that complete falls out of your brain the second the credits roll (if you make it that far)

I remember seeing Extraction with Hemsworth and being like “this is fine. Not good. But watchable”. And I couldn’t really describe a single scene to you in that movie or how the plot unfolded outside the obvious synopsis

In other words the Russos want cookie cutter movies to be made and frick those who call them out on it.

Got it, bros!

netflix action movies always hover around that 50% range on RT. they're just about as generic as can be which is why i dont bother with them anymore. the only one i really loved was triple frontier, and im in the minority on that. plus once youve seen john wick all other action movies pale in comparison (hurry up JW4)

Netflix has a LOT of action movies.

Extraction, Army of the Dead, Adam Project, Polar, and Red Notice are the only Netflix action movies I can say actually liked.

I’ll get downvotes, but Daily Wire’s 4 movies are better made and than 90% of Netflix’s original movies.

This is a good description of what I watched yesterday. It’s fine, but certainly not worth going to the theaters for. I’ve already forgotten about it.

I just watched it…I was VERY surprised at how good it was…plot wise, it was very generic…nothing new or creative, but it was well done for a CIA action movie…the production was much better than I was expecting, and the performances were solid…overall, it was an early Saturday afternoon with my dad well spent.

Why are most Netflix movies like this?

It doesn’t matter who is cast, who is directing, these Netflix productions are almost always terrible. I can’t really explain it.

Only one I thought was decent was The Irishman.

This sums up exactly the post I just made.

It’s odd, I can’t describe it, like something is just off with these Netflix films.

Completely forgettable.

You've identified the explicit intended appeal of action movies made between 1981 and 2005. This was considered a good thing. Entertaining, no thinking, you don't need to remember the plot because the plot didn't matter.

Another guy mentioned all Netflix action movies hover around 50% on RT. Remember what RT is doing. That means half the reviewers liked the movie, which means there is no critical consensus. I've read a few positive reviews of The Gray Man,and I've read a few negative ones. I'll check it out and see, even if I don't have lofty expectations.

I quit giving 2Fs about with RT says along time ago. Granted anytime there is a RT under 40, it respect that, but the audience score is way more helpful is judging the entertainment value of a flick.
