I think they really wanted the cameo, but forgot he hasn't had to actually act in a long time; he's fine as a TV personality (I liked Tabletop while it was on), but even his "acting" roles on Big Bang Theory were really just a caricature of himself (though the scene against Sheldon at the card tournament was pretty good).

i think this movie will have "copy-cat michaels" as it's shown in the first half of the trailer that whoever is in the mask has a full set of fingers on their left hand.
