Two pages and no mention of Festus! Can hear him asking, "Well Matthew, what are going to do now?"
He was my favorite sidekick on the show. I can't say how many times I heard him start a line with "Well, the onliest thang I know is---------".
He was also a hell of a singer and was with Tommy Dorsey's band in 41 the had two runs with "The Sons of the Pioneers" from 49-53 and again from 55-57 as their lead singer.
In between, he was in the U.S. Army during WWII from 43-45.

At what age should you be to start watching Gunsmoke on a daily basis?

When I was growing up, the TV will filled with westerns, and if you didn't like them, you were out of luck, especially around "Prime Time".
"The Deputy"
"Yancy Derringer"
Tales of Wells Fargo"
"Roy Rogers Show"
"Hopalong Cassidy"
"Have Gun Will Travel"
"Gunsmoke"
"The Lone Ranger"
"Bonanza"
"The Rifleman"
"Cheyenne"
"Rawhide"
"Wanted: Dead or Alive"
"Maverick"
"The Virginian"
"Rebel"
"The Lawman"
"The Big Valley"
Then there were shows like
"Daniel Boone"
"Davey Crocket"
"Zorro"

C'mon, how could you leave out "The Life & Legend of Wyatt Earp" with Hugh O'Brien? Can be seen currently on Amazon Prime Live TV.

I'm more of a Chester > Festus guy. Festus starts to get really annoying when he and Doc get to arguing. In those moments I am just like Doc, extremely annoyed with Festus and his stupidity.
Festus is almost cartoonish whereas Chester is more realistic.
Gunsmoke is my go-to show when I can't decide what to watch/feels like nothing good is on and I don't want to dig through streaming apps. Pull up the 24/7 channel on Pluto.

Chester is basically useless in a fight. Festus can handle a saloon full of cowpokes.

Maverick on Pluto is worth watching.
Season 2 ep 16 Gun shy
Maverick's parody of Gunsmoke. U.S. Marshal Mort Dooley keeps running Maverick out of town and is outfoxed as Maverick keeps returning. The Marshal, we're told, owns 37.5 percent of the Weeping Willow saloon run by Miss Amy (who owns 25 percent). Other owners include deputy Clyde (17.5 percent) and Doc Stucke (17.5 percent). Dooley faces off against Maverick in a scene shot similar to the opening credits of Gunsmoke.
