I really don't think she read the books.

Well, no one predicted that it would flop. It's mostly 'this movie isn't for me,' especially when you throw in replies to the teaser trailer.

Be more of a smarmy little fgt, though.

If we're deadset on ignoring that this is likely an older producer trying to describe Gerwig's take as "exciting and new", and instead stupidly forcing some literal interpretation of Narnia being rock and roll...

At least we know that this idea can work. See: A Knight's Tale

I hooked up a few times with a girl who looks just like Greta Gerwig, It's crazy. she acts the same aloof and spacy too. She talks almost exactly Greta. Every time I see her I think of this chick.

A Knight’s Tale is an original movie and not set in a fantasy world. Comparing the two is like comparing Ford vs Ferrari to Around the World in Eighty Days. It’s completely retarded.

Like how everyone wanted to anoint the Ragnarok director until they realized he's just a one-note artist.

What's retarded is taking a comment like this from a producer and immediately assuming you cannot trust a director. Especially when that filmmaker already took a classic literary property and made it feel exciting and new (through style, tone, and performance) without deviating significantly from that literary source.

Another completely retarded idea would be wishing for the same "faithful" adaptation style of narnia we've already seen, especially since those 2000s films sucked. They were unforgivably bland. And I can't imagine anyone would want these films to feel like the cheap, stodgy BBC adaptations in the 90s. It would be weird if Gerwig did not have a take for how to adapt these novels into something other than bland, off-brand Tolkien, the only way we've seen them on the big screen before.

You're full retard moment though is taking my sarcastic comment, laid out clearly by starting it with the stupidity of how people are interpreting Pascal's comment, and thinking I meant to make a serious comparison between a knight's tale and narnia.
