Land Before time: An orphaned brontosaurus named Littlefoot sets off in search of the legendary Great Valley. A land of lush vegetation where the dinosaurs can thrive and live in peace. Along the way he meets four other young dinosaurs, each one a different species, and they encounter several obstacles and the evil predator Sharptooth as they learn to work together in order to survive.

Greenland:
(Gerard Butler), his estranged wife Allison (Morena Baccarin), and young son Nathan make a perilous journey to their only hope for sanctuary. Amid terrifying news accounts of cities around the world being leveled by the comet's fragments, the Garritys experience the best and worst in humanity while they battle the increasing panic and lawlessness surrounding them. As the countdown to global apocalypse approaches zero, their incredible trek culminates in a desperate and last-minute flight to a possible safe haven - Greenland.

And both end with an extinction level meteor impact.

( the one in Land Before Time is offscreen, but still... )

About 2/3 through. They do a pretty good job of showing the craziness that would occur without going full zombie movie book of Eli walking dead crazy.

Pretty good flick. It was like Armageddon or Deep Impact, but from just one person’s point of view rather than a world view.

I really want to watch this one. Keep hoping it becomes free at some point soon, because as much as I'd like to watch it, I have no desire to pay to do so.

I doubt they would have made it IRL. I think these movies downplay how bad it would get in the last 2 days. I think you would have much more violence and more traffic on the roadways. Unless most people accepted they were toast.

It’s a lot like 2012.

It is terrible. Without giving away too many spoilers the actions by individuals and the government make no sense.

This was my feelings as well. Entertaining movie but the main characters make so many terrible decisions that I almost don't care if they survive by the end.

I actually enjoyed it.

First movie I think I've seen where Butler doesn't use an American accent.

I think they succeeded where 2012 failed. 2012 was just to over the top cartoony while this one felt more real. It wasn’t perfect but it was a better watch.

Okay, so I noticed Monday night that it was available on HBOMax for free, so I watched it last night. I actually really liked it a lot. Thought it was great. I thought the effects were pretty well done, and the story was decent (even if predictable as in these types of movies).

There were a couple of things that didn't make much sense (like why Office Roy decided to kidnap the kid instead of just taking the bracelets from him and his mom, or the time it took them to travel long distances) but all in all it felt like a fairly realistic portrayal of how some shite would happen if this were to happen in real life. The end was a little odd that after only nine months things were starting to settle down. I feel like an impact that big would ruin the world for centuries.

Overall, I'd give it a solid 8/10 or so. I really enjoyed it a lot.
