Finally watched this over the weekend. Really liked it.

It is such a different take on horror/thriller and it worked. Like Baloo said, there were stupid decisions throughout the movie, but each person makes them for their own reasons within the framework of the movie.

The only decision I didn't like or thought was rushed was the dude that just gave up and climbed out the window and immediately got stabbed to death.

And Patrick Stewart was solid as the owner.

And yeah, the scene where ole boy got stabbed in the arm was brutal.

I just realized... you were so much scarier in the dark.

i agree. i think that was just a narrative choice to remove the one guy who could actually fight to make things more dire for the rest

Yeah, that was a great line.

No doubt. It just sort of came out of nowhere, and was extraordinarily stupid. You know the place has to be surrounded, or at least that they are outside. And he doesn't even look or anything...just blasts out and gets attacked within two seconds.

I didn't fully get what the nazis were trying to set up though. At first I thought they were trying to set up some sort of car accident. But then it ends up being that they were stealing gas? So you murdered four (three?) people for stealing gas? Including mauled/bitten to death by pit bulls? Seems a little excessive.

Also liked when the first killer dude was leaving and he was like "What was that second to last song? It rocked."

I would imagine that regardless of whether or not they played that song, the outcome would have been the same once they walked in on the murdered girl.

didn't he say he killed the girl to that song?

one thing i didn't get. did they give that guy and his band hot doses? i thought they did, but then at the end he's alive (But it looks like his compadre may be dead?")

Yup. "That's one I did her to.."

I believe so. I got the impression at the end, when they showed them in the living room, that they were keeled over and dead. It sort of focused in on the little packet sitting on the armrest thing. And Patrick Stewart had mentioned earlier about the "nagger dope" and how it was a bad batch or was killing people or whatever. I took it as it was just another loose end they had to tie up (which doesn't make much sense now that I think about it...why would you need to tie up that loose end since he was obviously "all in" enough to kill for you).
