Star Wars films have not been good since the original trilogy besides Rogue One.

Does the future involved outing Yoda as transgender? Or a reboot where Darth Vader is a feminist? Please just leave it alone.

In related news...

quote:

I’ve been Ackbar for about six years... and I was not really thrilled about how they blew him out the side of the ship,” Kane told The Star Wars Show Live! at Star Wars Celebration Chicago.

“I’m like, ‘Who is this Holdo woman? Nobody knows her, no one’s invested in her — who is she? Why is she saving the fleet?’ If anyone was gonna save the fleet it’d be Ackbar [laughs].”

Only if JK Rowling starts writing Star Wars fan fiction.

But we needed Holdo to stop all the mainsplaning and toxic masculinity emanating from Poe. How else will star wars nerds learn how to stop questioning empowered females?

The last 15-20 minutes were great. Other than that, meh. I can’t tell you the names of all of the characters because I wasn’t led to care about them.

For me, it’s a tier 2 Star Wars film.

How many times have you seen it? How many times have you seen the others? Over how many years?

Who cares? I don’t have to watch a movie multiple times in order to care about the characters and their struggles. A good film will do this on the first watch.

Who are their bosses? Who do they directly have to answer to? And so on and on
..

Seems like somewhere, there are some rich puppetmasters.. So why arent they like, "yeah, we made money..but look, we could make 3 times as much if we made sure things happened"..

Just seems like when a person releases a great film, there is not a lot of backlash. I cant remember a lot of bickering when a film is released and is obviously great.

When there is backlash from the fanbase you're appealing to, and not making any new fans..it shouldnt be just written off as, "haters gonna hate" type of shite.

What we are witnessing is a mass epidemic of poor businessmen & businesswomen who inherited jobs, or have lost whatever passion that got them there.. being exposed.

A new series of movies from The Last Jedi writer-director Rian Johnson are still part of the plan
I have repeatedly said this will probably be good

Rian with his own story will be really good.

Letting him run the middle leg of a 3-station relay was a truly awful idea, as evidenced in the TLJ shitburger.

quote:

“As they finish Game of Thrones, they’re going to segue into Star Wars,” Kennedy said. “They’re working very closely with Rian.”
Which means the stories tie into each other, and not the beleagured Skywalker kamikaze.

I have no problem with this.

Maybe Rian's new story will get me interested in SW again? I'll give him a chance.

But he has to hit a homerun to make up for what he did to the lore in TLJ.

Did anyone ever say exactly how it was different?

I figure it was way more violent before it got edited.
