I think you can argue the inheritance piece. Rhaegar died before Aerys, which makes Viserys the heir. Viserys dies which means that it either goes to the daughter or the next male.

Keep in mind there was at least one Targaryen queen. On the other hand when Baelor the Blessed died, they passed over his sister(s), which lead to Aegon the unworthy eventually.

In this case I think might makes right.

I really enjoyed that in 7.1 Jon claims that the North houses wouldn't be punished for the sins of their fathers and then in 7.2 they brought up how Dany's father is the Mad King and Tyrion is a Lannister.

Kinda goes to show how stupid all the northern lords and Sansa are though. Last week Jon said he wouldn't punish sons for the sins of their fathers and everyone agreed that was a good point. Then this week they're all "But her dad was the Mad King and Tyrion is a Lannister rabble rabble."

Jon shouldn't walk out with anything less than a marriage alliance. A Jon/Danny marriage is the smartest political move for them both at this point.

I could definitely see that. But I don't think Jon will take issue with swearing loyalty to Dany. In Jon's mind, bending the knee probably just means gaining a powerful ally.

I feel Jon will do whatever it takes to get help to the North. If bending the knee means Dany will help his cause, then by all means, he'll do it.

All this shite going on and she's obsessed with people kneeling before her? As if she's not unlikeable enough.

I wouldn't say Daario is powerful. He's a good killer. But powerful? No.

Maybe not in his own right before he met Dany. But he is most certainly in a position of power right now.

Definitely.

At that moment I thought Jon was going to use this boilerplate he established in 7.1 to make his point of meeting with Dany. When it didn't happen I was disappointed in the writers.

Jon will definitely kneel to Dany if she promises to assist against the army of the dead.

Does Jon seem like the type of person that kneels to somebody he doesn't even know? People like to claim that Jon is dumb when it comes to politics, I say horseshite. He never does anything without being completely informed, he'll never kneel to her as it would mean his head in the north and that's the only place he gives a shite about.

That's why I said he will trust Tyrion's opinion. The little guy can be quite persuasive and Jon is desperate.

It was unlike her character even 5 minutes prior. She's talking about being a queen of the people and then says Jon Snow needs to get to Dragonstone and suck her balls.

Davos has pulled some negotiating magic before too though.

As I said, is there a reason Danny/Jon shouldn't do this Iberian Wedding style? Neither is going to get a better match than the other with the current state of the realm. Danny maybe has that barrenness issue, but is true regardless of whether she marries Jon.

From the preview it seemed as if Dany was kind of sobbing by herself when Jon and David show up. Like the Unsullied and Dothraki were defeated by the Lannisters(and Tarly, I think he sides against Tyrell).

So it's definitely possible one or two of Dany's dragons will fall before the end of the season.

This season will end with the death of a dragon and Night King bringing down the wall. Bookmark it.

Agree. Wedding would make a lot of sense for both parties.

Dude, he's basically only had two or three conversations with Tyrion and that was before his story really took off. He doesn't really know Tyrion all that well. Do I think Tyrion would frick Jon over like that? No, but you've gotta look at it from Jon's perspective. He doesn't know shite about Danaerys and you don't bend the knee because the Hand asked you to.

Special benefit for Jon is that with Danny's back he could tell Littlefinger to frick right off.

I don't recall which trailer this was but Unsullied could fail to take Castly Rock. But the Dorthraki aren't involved in fighting for another couple of episodes.
