Surprise surprise, as they move further away from book material to work from, we get to see the true genius of D&D, fart jokes and cinematic cliche's. They suck.
except the book did the same thing as well
It's been a couple years since I finished reading, but I just don't recall there being many stupid jokes about farts and count. In the show, it takes away from the quality of the story when you have 3 minutes of an actor Robert Baratheon farting out his intestines.

It can't twist forever. Some events are going to happen that are predictable, but that are entertaining and exciting.
Pretty much. As readers we've analyzed and crackpotted to no end. So it's inevitable that things will fall into a place that we're familiar.
Outside of Dorne and a couple issues with an arc or two, it's progressed nicely.

I was talking about the "cinematic cliche" about a surprise army saving them at the last minute
it happened like that at Blackwater and the Wall in the books as well
so if you want to criticize D&D for using it, you need to criticize the GRRM as well for using it

And the show is still as popular as ever. Meaning that many people still love the show. Even people like you that criticize them are still going to watch so I'd say they're doing a fine job.
Meh, you can do a fine job or an excellent job. If they just want viewers, yeah, they can just mail it in.
There have been many many scenes this season that weren't in the books, where the dialogue is either completely juvenile or stylistically wrong (there was a reference to couches a couple episodes ago). It is annoying, but yes, overall it is still a great show.

I'm with you on the dialogue though
we watched the 1st 2 episodes before last nights ep, and you could definitely tell the dialogue was sharper then compared to now as S1 was almost scene for scene with the books

I wasn't really referring to that. Moreso things like Rickon doing the whole running man thing...we all knew he was going to die. They could have just had Ramsey slit his throat or bring Rickon out in pieces.

but the Rickon running man game was very in line with Ramsey's character

It's like they are basing this on a comic book version of ASOIF. I really don't like any of the dialogue that stems from them, which is why Tyrion at Mereen is so boring to me. His conversations with Grey Worm and Missandei are straight from MSNBC.

You're missing the point of why Ramsey did it. It was part of his battle plan. And completely in character. He likes to play with his food.
But his plan was to have Rickon draw Jon out to the exact spot where his men's arrows would be in range.
You'll notice the flayed men on the battlefield are actually distance markers for him/his archers.
Jon would have no choice but to go forward. Jon's cavalry would be drawn out to try and save him, abandoning their plan. He then fired his arrows killing everyone, both his men and theirs, because he has plenty men to spare. It worked if not for the Knights of the Vale.

What happens if Benjen does go south of the wall and makes it to Winterfell? I doubt he'd try to take it, but he could have a claim to the seat of Winterfell as well, correct?

So would it have been to flay him. That really wasn't that bad, but it was certainly cliche.

Also, chances that the guy that read the news on Rome is Wyman Manderly on GoT?

Gendry will pull up to Braavos in his rowboat next week just in time to row Arya back to Westeros.
That would be pretty funny. Arya goes out to the docks just in time to see the boat she paid for riding off into the sunset. As she is standing there on the docks, Gendry rows up on his boat.
Gendry climbs out of his boat and hugs her.
Arya: we have to go back
Gendry: WTF

Yeah, Wun Wun and a giant-sized warhammer would have been able to smash holes in the Bolton phalanx big enough for the rest to break out and turn it back into open combat.

So is there any chance that someone in the North has Robb's decree legitimizing Jon as a Stark, and his heir? Going into the season I thought that the Umbers may have it, but that is out the window. The Northern Houses are going to have to make a decision pretty dang fast as to what they want to happen with the liege seat in the North.
And even if they did have Robb's decree, and if they allow Jon take it, then they might as well send a raven to King's Landing telling them to kiss their asses, and come and get them, because the crown won't be pleased with the bastard son of traitor Ned retaking the North one bit.

They should just make Lady Mormont Warden of the North. She could probably do a 10x better job than any of the Starks.
