Ehh it's a matter of opinion. Some people watch the show for the fights and stuff, and some like the convoluted political dealings. Watchers on the Wall was good IMO, but this was one way better. I remember you hating that episode
There was just no substance to that one. When it first aired, many thought I was taking crazy pills for hating it, but I never hear it being brought up as an even good episode these days. I think it's in the bottom half, and is everything this episode isn't (in a good way).

Okay finished and am still decompessing
1.) frick HBO FOR frickING UP HBO NOW FOR THIS EPIC frickING EPISODE. Get your shite together
2.) Was i dreaming or did we have a totally badass Dany scene that wasnt just a shot for shot remake of something she did in the first 3 seasons. I feel like im taking crazy pills. Drogon looks HUGE and the other two looked kind of tiny.
3.) Can we not do a Yara/Dany scissoring storyline? I dont mean to pull a bluboy, but can we just not? it doesnt add to the story and doesnt really make sense
4.) HOLY frick THAT BATTLE SCENE WAS AMAZING. I love the randomness of who is getting killed, well thats how D&D explained it but i also took it as Jon has some serious Divine intervention going on. That battle felt so fricking real. I had no problem with the LF saving the day thing because it was the only logical thing to happen, I wish Ramsey had been defeated by his own overconfidence but they decided to make him a war general at the last minute, but it still worked great. It was like i knew jon was going to win and basically how it was going to happen but i was still having a heart racing anxiety about it. Great scenes
5.) Ramseys death scene was so satifying. I want to rewatch it 100 times, but that might mean im a weirdo. Sansa was kind of a bitch this episode but super fine. Watching those Stark banners go up was like crack. love it
6.) Shut it OML, Jon isnt going back to the wall until hes got some dragons and an army
7.) Its been covered, But cmon Rickon SERPENTINE !
8.) and Finally, I dont think Mel dies this week or anytime soon. Davos will confront her, Jon will say "I understand, but I owe her a life for my own" and will banish her from winterfell
from there she bumps into Arya (remember it was said they will see each other again), and she will try to take Arya to winterfell to get back in with Jon. Seems a little too clean but this season has been pretty clean, not a whole lot of messy plots that solve one and open up 10 other plot lines
okay im done, gonna go watch veep

frick I accidentally posted in Hodor thread.
All I said was "I don't know about y'all but I'm so hyped up that I can't fall asleep."
Harmless but I went back and edited my post.

The scene where Jon is struggling under all the bodies, trying to breathe was also a great scene. Seeing him and crew climb out and spot Ramsey was awesome.
Great episode, maybe best ever. LF is gonna start working Sansa now. Curious to see how she handles him now. She's not as naive this time around.

I guess this episode was predictable but after 5 seasons it is about damn time something good happened to that family, there was really no other way it should have gone.
I thought the battle scene was fantastic. Jon/Ramsay both brought it. The dude who played Ramsay was just fantastic, couldn't have asked for a better rendition.
I just hope the finale gives us something good and not just filler going into next season

I think Sansa wanted the satisfaction of being responsible for the win, not Jon being a myth-style leader. She still sees him as a bastard.
No she doesn't.
Well not after he went Wolverine, I mean if that was her hope it failed because he pretty much became a mythic leader.

Is Ghost still around? I haven't noticed him in the last severL episodes
Have to save that CGI budget for the big Ghost v Drogon "Battle of the Pets" showdown to end the series.

I'll take Ser Pounce in that battle. After all, he is Azor Ahai.

Any chance the BWB crashes the Frey feast next week?

this is the one show where fans are pissed when their theories are proven both wrong and right.

Regardless if LF betrays him or not, Dany is still a long way from Westeros. The Others aren't going to sit by just waiting for Dany to show up.

Anyone else get chills when they hung the Stark banner back up in Winterfell?

Agreed. I don't think this is where it's headed, though. I think that scene was really mutual admiration from two badass bitches and recognizing that they can help each other gain what they each want.

A couple of things I picked up on my second rewatch that I missed on the first was:
(1) Tyrion looks away the minute Greyworm moves forward to kill the masters, and doesn't/can't watch it, and doesn't turn back around until Greyworm sheaths his dagger.
(2) Dany just sits back with her eyes glued on Tyrion as he is verbally castrating (yeah I know, terrible pun) Theon. She knew that Tyrion knows these Westerosi houses, but the amount of knowledge he had on Theon probably surprised he a little (or at least reaffirmed that making him her adviser was an excellent decision).

Watching the dragons tonight no way anyone can stand against them maybe not even the others.

Well I mean the "Pounce who was Promised"

There was definitely some sexual tension between Asha and Dany.
