He's not overly clever. He's not stupid. He's not funny. He's maybe a bit of a frickup (I haven't seen him make a great decision yet, but without hindsight none of them have been bad decisions either). He's totally average. If he wins out he'll be the 07/11 NY Giants of Kings.
Rewatching the episode, I hope Frey gets a bigger role.

I'm not reading this whole thread, but I just have to get this off my chest as a therapeutic exercise. That episode was fricking awesome. I admit that I cheated a little and wiki'd book 3, but I was not expecting that.

Tywin is incredibly calculating and great at his job. The only thing he is a frickup on is being a father. He is a terrible, terrible father, but other than that, he's highly competent.

I mean. One of my theories was that Robb's wife was in on it. I only knew Robb would die. Another was/is that Cersei and Tyrion were gonna team up somehow and kill Tywin for his arranged marriage shenanigans.
