I have all the books but haven't read but the first couple of chapters of the first. I want to catch up with the show but don't want to start a book without finishing. I heard that this season and the next are all the third book. Is that true? I don't want to ruin the show for me but am intrigued by what the books may contain.
I will join Hugo's list when it is time.

This is precisely why I've avoided the middle ground thread. Someone who's read book four but not five could still be in there and spoil it for me. I've tried to avoid that shite like the plague.
I prefer getting my surprises from the show, and soaking up the literature afterwards. The mythology is crazy deep and worth going back over for sure.

middle ground thread only discusses up to where the show is in the book, only adding a little more background detail that may have been left out. it's safe

Usually I won't even touch this thread until the episodes over to give the admins a chance to do their work. This show has so much potential for spoilers it's not even funny.

What the hell have I said here in the past few weeks? That the Queen in the North has a great arse and some guy doubting the bear scene was in the book?
So you just answered your own question. Thanks. Good day.

What about me? I'm not a Hodor or a book reader.

then what are you doing here?

I haven't read any books and I don't want an answer from a book reader...
do we know what sex the dragons are? I assume if one of them is a female they could lay some eggs and we could have some more baby dragons.
also, I love the hound character. I also love Arya. them together is gonna be awesome, IMO

I thought the dragons were a lot bigger now (when they were flying over Dany's army after sacking Astapor), but they're still pretty small.

Did you know Robb Stark is dating the new Doctor Who companion Clara IRL?

Stating anything beyond where the show is at is against the rules in the MG thread.

you know, that is a very good question. I think the biggest one is a boy.
I just read on a gossip site that Dany and Seth McFarlane broke up and she's now dating James Franco.

He's having to tap dance to show tunes just to fight off the blues.

I'm pretty sure they haven't specifically addressed the sex or whether or not they can breed this things. Interesting idea but I'm assuming they aren't the easiest things in the world to breed since they have gone extinct before.

Ok, tin foil hat time...what if Robb's wife was writing a letter to Tywin? Maybe she sends them to her mom and mom forwards them to tywin? What if she is a spy?
Im staring to think she is up to no good also. If she is a spy, she is most certainly not pregnant as she told Robb. It may be a trap to ensure she has her claws fully into him.
Someone posted they dont trust the Freys...Im inlcuded in that line of thinking. Robb not holding up his promise of marriage Im sure is still on their minds.
Who are these powerful friends of Yunkai? Is it the Lannisters? Maybe the "Lord of Light"? Myabe even the Dothraki? Im interested in finding out. The preview didnt give many clues but whoever that guy was, Jorah knew him pretty good. I think if the do battle, Dany will end up getting her dragons killed, or atleast onne of them.
Hasnt been metioned but I dont think Joffrey knows of his grandfathers plans for his mother. He knows of the meeting but now what they have discussed. Any chance he tries to sabotage Cersai's wedding to Loras? Cersai and Tyrion both know that all they have to do is get Joffrey to give the order to kill Tywin and they both become free of their impending marriages. Joffrey already tried to kill Tyrion...I dont think he would have an issue killing his grandfather
The bird vision dude for thw Wildlings doesnt trust Jon Snow a bit. He seems to know something Ygritte doesnt. What if Jon Snow has been a mole all this time? I think that would be mind blowing but its interesting that the everyone seems to trust Jon Snow but the bird guy. We will surely find out when/if they reach Castle Black.

I assume all it takes is one male to fertilize the eggs from tghe females. This is based on one of the most awesome movies ever, Reign of Fire.
