re: GoT S03E07 - "The Bear and the Maiden Fair" **NON BOOK READERS ONLY PLEASE**

I really would like one thread on the poliboard where the minority (of the board) could talk in peace. I think it's only fair, if the nonbookreaders can have an exclusion thread, why can't the party in power?
We are so outnumbered there that it can only be a conservative circle jerk and nothing more.

Not really, an exclusion thread is an exclusion thread. We have the lists of who voted for who.

Why can't one party get a thread where the other party cannot comment?

I get what you are doing, I applaud it. You are an Admin, so I know you can see the RAs that do come from the readers. We even go after our own for joking about it. It's not cool to spoil.

But.. It's a slippery slope when you can delete posts, not because of content, but because of what group that poster belongs to.

Even ones telling a person who read one book, Don't post in our thread, post in this one. Luv told the dude to go to our thread and then the series would be ruined. That was not fair, and now the way my correcting post has been deleted could infer others that a person who has only read a few hundred pages, should come to our thread.


As I do agree with the premise, and in light of the personal attack against you from a reader, I will respect the thread, and not post here. But I just think that it's a slippery slope, and if it is done here, it should be done elsewhere, where it has been requested for years.

No. Really. It's a terrible analogy. It's not about "you have a different opinion than me." it's more complicated than that. But you already know that because it's been discussed by both sides ad nauseum. And look at the last couple of weeks when we stayed out of the "wrong" threads...both threads were long and had great discussion (I assume ya'lls did, but ours definitely did).

But again, you already know that. I guess it just kills you to not post in here, even knowing that nonreaders don't want you to.

You and I disagree on that I guess. I don't see it as a slippery slope. I think the slippery slope comes from readers and nonreaders in the same thread, because we've seen threads slip down that slope several times in the past.
