Littlefinger is pretty much the definition of a slime ball.
Why? He's only slightly more manipulative and cunning than many other major players.

No shite. How difficult is it to recognize the guy who cut off Jamie's hand and who threw Brienne into the bear pit?

showing us what the White Walkers do with the babies,
I kinda thought that is what they did with them, except maybe waited until the baby was a little older.
So even the book readers who have read all the way to the last book had no idea what really happens to the babies?

is there a non-spoiler explanation for the reader meltdown (i'm not reading the thread, just seeing the title)
Posted on 4/27/14 at 10:47 pm to SlowFlowPro
I'm not going in there either but I am interested in knowing more about who all is having a melt down!

They defected greatly from the books tonight with Bran and Jon's storyline.

We've honestly guessed this is what happened (or some variation of it), but the origins and overall nature of the White Walkers we still don't have a clue about. The only time we've seen the White Walkers before this very scene is when they're just murdering people, and we have no POV within their ranks.
Some posters are pissed that since the books have not addressed this yet directly that they've been literally spoiled by the show.

this is when things will get very interesting. its known that Martin has told the show runners the remainder of what happens in the books. With that knowledge they will undoubtedly start sprinkling things into the show that the books havent addressed yet.
do readers really have a fair argument? dont want to be spoiled? dont watch the show. this is pretty common for people who havent read/caught up to the books. the show has consistently stated it is not waiting for Martin to carry on or reveal things
guess im just wondering if a "meltdown" is really warranted. and i guarantee you this is what the showrunners wanted from tonights episode.

Exactly...I love both the books and the show--they are two separate entities. With that said I was pleasantly surprised with the ending scene tonight. We never get any sort of confirmation about what happens to Craster's babies once the White Walkers come and take them. I definitely think Martin told David and Dan about Others mythology/what their purpose is...and for the TV medium, the ending scene makes perfect sense since that's what the endgame of this series is about...forget about the high lords, Varys, Littlefinger--they're all screwed for the true threat. Winter is coming.

Nope. It was always left up to speculation. Like I said earlier though, count me as a reader who enjoys the deviations. Especially when they confirm/deny things we've speculated about for a long time.
Actually, that new scene with the White Walkers and the "Great Other" (Head Other In Charge) has lead to some more speculation among readers of who he could've originally been so that's cool in it's own right.

Why the frick do you care if someone can or can't remember a character?

haha but as a fellow "hodor" i get the frustration. it gets annoying. imagine trying to discuss a movie with someone without using names and continually using different abstract descriptions for each character. that whole thread is more work than discussion.
half the people dont know who daeneryus is. shes always referred as "khaleesi."
