That's what I thought because he's like using Maester information to make comotose Khal Drago theories. It's confusing.

There's a lot of guys using all the information about Roberts rebellion that's not in the show and acting like they just kind of "figured it out" by watching the show

I was the only one to admit where that info comes from and everyone got pissed at me

Yes, his theories make me laugh and remind me of myself in season 1. Reading his crazy ideas makes me think up crazy ideas.

What's up with that Jon Snow theory thread? Is he just saying what the theory is or what?

ETA I see now

Question for book 3 readers: what happens in the epilogue, did you expect the finale to include this? I feel like they should have bc it definitely shocked me.

Yes, that was why a lot of people were disappointed. Lena Headey also posted pics on twitter indicating that it would be reveled.

iluv being a hodor and still having that ridiculous dany avy is pretty hilarious- as she is a terrible TV character.

Her being a Maester and still having her as an avy is probably worse- as she is 3 times worse and boring in the books.

she has to be one of the biggest let downs of the series. Martin really shot his load with her on book 1 and just had no follow up. so hes kind of strung her along every since with no real matters of consequence happening. im sure she will be great in the final book. so basically book 1 and book 7 was all she was meant for.

That and the Tyrion/Tywin scene's context being changed. I braced myself for the Epilogue, but not that one. Just liked the book was more fueled by anger without the other taking crap from each other, while on the show they tried to up the tragedy on a son having to kill his father in the show.

Yes, I definitely expected the Epilogue chapter to be the cliffhanger ending.

My book reading roommate told me about what actually happened when Tywinn died and why, but I don't see the meltdown, doesn't seem that important really, I'm sure the show has changed more important things than that

It was the single defining horrible moment in Tyrion's life, and they don't give you or the audience any closure on it. I'd say it was pretty damn important.

Unlike others, I do not find her pursuits noble in cause. I'm assuming this is a middle ground thread so I can talk a bit openly...I don't know.

The whole ruling- fighting pits- thing was a bit boring. Will she allow them. Won't she. It was just exhausting and stupid. She flays all the masters on her way in, but won't let people compete in games they willingly choose to? It's just absurd.

Also, I'm guessing she is like 13 or 14 in the books and she is just fricking a bunch of dudes. I find it hilarious.

It's context for Tyrion's character.

It was really more between Jaime and Tyrion that changed in my opinion. HBO gave Tyrion and Jaime a "luv u bro" sendout, while GRRM really put a strain on their relationship to the point that Tyrion says some really hateful things to Jaime instead of hugging it out.

as a non-book reader and just basing the characters around the show's world. I thought the scene was fine. I think the previous discussions between Tyrion and Twyin earlier in the season helped that moment. There have been several conversations where Tywin continues to express his hate for Tyrion.

I felt like Tyrion knew that both of them could not survive and had enough of him being a "failure" while his father ruined his life at every chance possible. Especially when he walks in and realizes Shae was just another plant like the first one. I think it helped to reemphasize Tyrion never found true love because his father was manipulating it the entire time.

Well, I think that Tyrion did find it at one point.

The point I was getting at is he kept thinking he found it. But it was revealed both times to be false and because of Tywin. The last reveal felt like it really made him snap.
