I am going to buy book 4 and 5 after work today and i will be a hodor/davos no longer. I will continue to support Dany because she has dragons and is the rightful heir to the throne, unless the Jon snow theory works out with Lyanna and Rhaegar....in which case I can start shipping a Dany/Jon wedding since they would be kinfolk and they could rule the world side by side.

books 4 and 5 take place at the same time. so there is a master chapter list which combines the 2 books.
so youd be flipping back and forth between the two to make it 1 giant arse book
eta: wouldnt this be hard as frick to do since the chapter names are just character names? youd have to hope your book pages line up as well.

It's not bad... All the chapters are in the order they appear in the books and often you get strings of 3-4 chapters from one book.

everyone admits to book 4 being the worst. does this make it better/easier to read? or does it basically drag down book 5?

I actually read book 4 faster than I did book 5....5 definitely drags in some places.

Book 4 is great. Love Cersei's POV Chapters. Brienne chapters suck grumpkin balls.
I would not read them alone. Book 5 has some meh chapters too (frick you Dany and your jihad names)

If anything it enhances book 4. Book 5 drug during...you guessed it...Dany's chapters.

i have friends who read the books. they made the same comment about the names. they basically just say them in gibberish in their heads when reading. theyve said half the enjoyment of the show is hearing how certain things are said. i wonder if Martin has a rhyme or reason to some names or just strings sounds together and puts them on paper.
