I think you are correct.

The troop (later that episode I think? maybe the next one) was singing The Bear and the Maiden Fair. I believe it was Thoros that was singing The Rains of Castamere.

eta: And beaten. That's what I get for loading HboGO to make sure instead of blindly posting it!

You are correct, my bad. The Boltons have Brienne. Of course they were singing that.

The Brotherhood Without Banners was singing it before running into Arya.

You need to clarify the rules for some people. "Up to this point" is from a show perspective, not a book perspective.

For example, I don't think the show wants the viewer to know who the Bastard is, where he and Theon are and what happened to Theon's men just yet. But apparently, the reader already had this info by this point in the book because it's all been talked about in this thread.

I guess you could say all I had to do was notice the sigil, but that's really only obvious after the fact. Anyway, I'm guessing it won't be long until we know all of this, so there is probably not much harm done.

I'll clarify but I think this thread has been good for the most part. I believe a nonreader asked about who's house the guys torturing Theon belonged to, opening up the discussion. It's not really that big of a deal in the grand scheme of things. Theon actually vanished during this whole part of the books and we only sort of learn what happened to him later in the next book. The show is kind of doing its own thing here (but as a secret reader you know that ).

Either way, unless someone posts a significant spoiler I think we can let it go. I don't want this thread to get like the others. I did put a mild spoilers possible warning in the OP from the start, so if someone wants to avoid any potential extraneous info from the books, they can keep their happy arse in the nonreader thread.

There have also been several instances where Tyrion can be heard whistling the tune.

I refer only to the more sensitive ones. I think a good band name for them would be "iluv and the hardleggers".

Justified, based on the Khaleesi pics.

Tyrion whistles Rains of Castamere at start of this scene.

What I figured from the posts. Evidently, at this point in the story, the reader knows more about Theon's situation than does the viewer. The fact that someone saw fit to post it seems to support that.

But the show seems to want it to be a shocking, Twilight Zone moment for Theon. Maybe it was in the books, but if the reader already knew where he was, I say it's more shocking this way. My theory WAS that he was being convinced that this was all a test of strength and loyalty by his father and sister. When he says the part about "my real father..." I thought, "oh shite. he's in trouble now and his father is going to frick him up."

Originally, I thought the Bastard was Greyjoy's bastard, who wanted to bump Theon off by framing him, claiming he'd killed (who I thought were) his father's men and becoming Greyjoy's only male heir. When he talks about "remembering" Theon getting shipped off to the Starks and him that Theon was Greyjoy's only son, I immediately thought he was a challenger to Theon.

I've even seen it stated in the nonreader thread by a nonreader that Bolton's people have Theon. Some people pay attention to the show.

Eta: just caught up reading the nonreader thread. So sad people can't control themselves, and I'm referring to both sides.

I do love, however, that the nonreader thread got anchored while the Middle Ground thread charges on.

I'd like to know what they think supports this, what they think I missed.

But. That's the second time someone has accused me of "missing" something in the shows, trying to troll "book info" out of me. b-dipshit's troll was a bit more provocative, though, and I may have fallen for it if I really was the "secret reader" you all think I am.

BTW, "Psych," get a real job.

Especially if they already know the source material.

But as I've said, you want "knowledge?" So be it. And though you have no reason to believe me, I'm pretty confident that I can get an advance copy of he next book.

Good luck, "doctor." Get a fricking job.
