Oh I completely agree. That's why I said one of the few things they've dropped the ball on.
I just think even if they didn't want to case an actor for 1 ep like they did with Beric, they could have just shown Thoros at the Tourney of the Hand with his helm on and the flaming sword. That would have been really cool and would have made Thoros' arrival this season even cooler IMO.

One thing the show has missed on is explaining all these tournys. All the knights travel to the different tournys, which is how these great warriors know each other. They didn't have facebook.

My post was just a joke about stuff that happened well before where we are at in GOT. They are from the Egg & Dunk books. Nothing informative at all about the future, but I wanted to clarify since I saw your complaint as I lurked the non-reader thread. Feel free to bring any and all questions or topics over here from that thread if you want to discuss.

In last night's episode when the Queen of Thorns was talking about her son laying seige to a banquet table- was that when he was laying seige to Stannis and the Onion Knight saved him?
Posted on 4/22/13 at 12:44 pm to TigerintheNO
Yup. When the seige was lifted Tyrells bent the knee to Robert

Yes it is.

Just want to pop in hear and say the show has done a lot to show Theon as an empathetic character. Between his monologue last night and the letter to Rob scene last year, he becomes more likable despite his actions at Winterfell. I attribute this to Alfie Allen's performance and the showrunners wanting to use him more.

The scene where he was talking to his backstabbing buddy (
) wasn't in the books but I also thought it relayed brilliantly the internal monologue you get from him in the books. Alfie Allen has been great in that role.

???? I dont remember complaing or asking anything in there? If you mean that yall were talking about stuff over my head its all good. I was like ughhh no idea and just kinda moved on. Figured if I didnt understand what yall were saying then I didnt want to try to understand because Id realize it at some point
I wasnt complaining or anything. yall have been really good in this thread from what ive read.
Sadly I havent had a chance to pick up book 2 in months. Really want to get going and catch up but I have no time

I have a question, and I don't know if it's been addressed or not. I really don't feel like reading this whole thread to see if it's in here, so I'm hoping not. I read the first 2 books, and watched the first 2 seasons a few times. It was while reading the books I found out that Dany's knight is the son of Lord Mormont of the Night's Watch. Do they address that in the show at all? I don't remember it, but I may have just missed it.
Posted on 4/22/13 at 1:12 pm to SCLSUFan
They did. Commander Mormont mentions it early on when he gives Jon the sword that was meant for his son Jorah.
Posted on 4/22/13 at 1:14 pm to BluegrassBelle
Yeah it was something very easily missed in the tv show IMO.
