I need to get caught back up. I only watched part of last season and got sidetracked.

They’ve upped the nudity.

I already saw the Alison Brie scene. She looks a lot better than in season one.

That was a good little season. They’re doing a great job of building the characters. Props to Geena Davis for letting it all hang out.

The whole series is about people sabotaging themselves and then falling assbackwards into a better life.

But it’s entertaining and has tits.

Excellent under the radar show that a lot of people won't even bother to give a chance. Hilarious, thought-provoking and touching. The actors all do a great job and the writers give most of the characters room to grow. Like seeing Maron doing well in his later career. + tits

Easily the most frustrating character on the show is Ruth. She sabotages herself constantly and expects different results.

Still a great show but she infuriates me.

The "switch-em-up" match that takes a "celebrity turn" is one of the funniest damn things I've seen from an episodic series in a while.

Been a huge fan of this show, but I don’t know what the frick was going on this season. They wasted a lot of time on shite I didn’t care about.

Don’t get me wrong, they still had some great moments, like most everything involving Sheila, who stole this entire season in my opinion. I found myself siding with people I’m pretty sure the show wanted me to think were wrong.

Spoilers

Bash was a bit of a jerk in deciding to continue the show without talking with everyone, but he didn’t make any of them stay. How is it his fault that none of these people thought about what would happen if the show was a success?

Also, Debbie wanted to stop the show because she wanted to be with her kid. Again, how is this Bash’s problem? Debbie wanted to put everyone out of a job because of what was going on in her life. That is way worse than what Bash did.

Then she volunteered Ruth for something without talking to Ruth, which is hypocritical of her after the Bash stuff. I think it is worse because Bash at least gave everyone the option to leave if they didn’t want to keep working.

The Ruth/Sam stuff is a disaster. I hate that storyline. There is no reason for it to exist for either one of those characters. Ruth seems to enjoy being miserable.

I thought Yolanda came off as a huge bitch. She is dating someone she knows is knew to that lifestyle. If someone tells you all they know is that they love you and want to be with you, why is that the moment you decide to make some kind of statement about having to say you are gay? And of course, as these shows usually do with situations like this, it is all written to have Arthie apologize in the end.

For me, this season went off the rails. I won't be surprised if it does not get renewed for another season.

Agree. I stopped it after 3 episodes, I cringed through all 3 of those.

Just finished the season and agree 100%. It went went way too heavy on causes. Too many diabetes-inducing bonding moments. Ruth is an idiot. D&D must have had a hand in the show because the directors/writers introduced then completely forgot about storylines (Cherry's gambling, Welfare Queen's pill popping + drinking, Debbie's bulimia). If there is a 4th season, it's going to need to have great word of mouth for me to check in.

I enjoyed this season, but I don't disagree with a lot of the complaints in here though.

My biggest complaint was that not much really seemed to happen in terms of advancing the story. I like most of the cast and like seeing their characters advance, but not at the detriment of losing focus on the big picture plot ideas. The HUGE time jump they did was terrible. While the actual scene itself was cool, it advanced what, like 200 days or so? And then the little mini plots picked up and hadn't really advanced much at all.

And I agree that the Ruth/Sam thing seems forced a bit, but it didn't bother me for whatever reason. And I like that Sam's daughter is back into the show.

I agree that Yolanda handled her situation with the Indian chick about as poorly as she could. I'm interested to see where the Bash/Rhonda storyline goes though. Though I don't think making him gay was a good choice really, it's an interesting position for Rhonda and I am interested to see how that works out (if it does). The whole idea of them being together is weird, so I am glad to see that storyline at least getting more interesting.

Debbie pisses me off all the time. I get her feelings toward Ruth sometimes, but good Lord she has run that into the ground and nas turned into a pretty selfish bitch most of the time. I'm interested to see where her relationship with Tex goes after what she did with buying that TV station...I liked that aspect of her character (trying to settle down with the old businessman type).

While the show isn't as good as it was in S1, I still enjoy it and will watch as long as they keep putting out new seasons.
