I have not been this pumped for a movie in quite a while.

I’m all in on this one. Looks fantastic

Surprisingly, this looks really good!

Wow, they went right past son and straight to grandson. Yay oldness.
It started out looking way too serious, and it still may be, but it gets a bit more interesting toward the end, and we still haven't seen a title character. That seems promising.
I truly believe that there is no way the list of people in this movie could render a bad product. It may not be great, but I doubt it will suck.

Maybe I'm just thinking too much into the backstory, but Egon wasn't married in the first two films 30 to 35 years ago. Are they setting this thing around the year 2035 to 2040 to make the time frame work? Of course, now that I think about it, GB II was set in 1999/2000.

The second movie was set in 1989 - it opens with a card that says "5 years later".

Maybe - I really don't recall. I would just assume they would follow the canon of the films more than the cartoon. The grandmother's identity is probably irrelevant to the plot in either case.
yep. here she is feeling him out. LINK

Now speaking of that. When paul rudd says "there hasn't been a ghost sighting in 30 years". Does that mean (in this movie) the lady version never happened? I hope that's the case.
I'm guessing yes. Considering in that version they killed BM.
I hated every ounce of that last movie and it wasn't b/c it was an all female cast. It was just horrible in everyway possible..

I stand corrected. But, that gives 30 years for him to get married, have a daughter and grand kids in middle school. That's why I wonder if it's set further into the future.

Yes. The girl power version is non-canon.
And Leslie Jones was maaaaaad

I'm not denying that, but they dropped that angle in the second one. I always assumed they got together one late night when Egon got her all worked up by showing off his collection of spores, molds, and fungus. Louis then used his night school law degree to warn Egon of what kind of sexual harassment liability he was looking at by nailing his secretary. Of course, that was all just a ruse for the crafty ole CPA to get him out of his way so he could get with the spicy redhead who has a thing for nerds.

Marriage isn't a prerequisite to having kids - after all, those science chicks were really interested in his epididymis.
He could have knocked someone up in '85/'86, which would make his kid old enough to give him a sixteen year old grandson in 2020.

This looks like exactly what I wanted the last movie to be. Reverential, honoring the originals. Not completely shitting all over them.
Love how the trailer didn’t reveal the original cast or much of the story.

Egon is the type of dude who would have decided to grow his kid in a test tube instead of actually having sex with a person.

Looks like Stranger Things (Ghostbusters Edition)

Her rant didn’t even make sense b/c that movie was very clearly unrelated to the original two. It was much more like a live action version of the Extreme Ghostbusters cartoon.

It looks like Ghostbusters and Stranger Things had a baby
