All critics - 79%
Top critics - 50%
I know there is usually a bit of a gap between the two but 29% seems a tad high. Might be an indication that the 79% number will come down some.

Won't be as universally hated. As I was told yesterday - the only reason this movie is being criticized is because of implicit misogyny. There will be plenty of reviewers that give it glowing reviews simply because they feel this movie is needed.

She's the worst in any context.
She gave The Jungle Book a rotten rating while it sits at 94% fresh.
She gave "The Boss" starring her personal hero (Melissa McCarthy) a fresh rating, while it sits at 22% approval.

oh yeah, I forgot about this upcoming bomb
I've seen two tv spots (and I watch a lot of tv) and we have secret life of pets, finding dory, and a movie that will be more appealing to female audiences (the new mila kunis one)
ruh roh, sony has another epic bomb on their hands

That's strange. I do wonder what audiences are going to do. Would love to find a movie with this kind of break between critics. Usually, it isn't this big.

Read the reviews and notice the emphasis on the cast

From Richard Roeper

quote:
‘Ghostbusters’ reboot a horrifying mess
So bad.
“Ghostbusters” is a horror from start to finish, and that’s not me saying it’s legitimately scary.
More like I was horrified by what was transpiring onscreen.
How could so many talented, well-meaning artists, who clearly loved and respected the original, produce such a raggedy-looking, thuddingly unfunny, utterly unnecessary reboot?
For months, controversy has swirled around the new “Ghostbusters” movie. The trailer was reportedly the most hated in YouTube history, for what that’s worth (or not worth), which led to some pundits saying some of that hate was rooted in sexism.
Others said the fact the Leslie Jones character wasn’t a scientist and seemed to have a role that called for her to play into stereotypes smacked of racism.
Of course, people were voicing these opinions without having seen the entire movie. Well, I have seen it — and while I believe the concerns about racial stereotypes were overblown, “Ghostbusters” is one of the worst movies of the year for multiple other reasons, including:
Bad acting.
Uninspired directing, editing, cinematography and music.
Cheesy special effects.
A forgettable villain.
A terrible script.

I wonder if the director has a harsh response for roeper given his previous comments about "haters"

Damn, not just negative, but says it's a top to bottom turd

Richard Roeper obviously has an agenda.

You mad? Roeper is a gigantic liberal puss cake just like you, and even he thinks it sucks.
