He would have made a better pitch if he thought it would kill a Stark.

It is a race against time with heart disease and diabetes. I am placing my money on heart disesase.

They are all going to be raped, killed, and eaten. And probably not in that order.

And he can kindly frick off while he travels the world, releasing half the damn book in "sample" chapters, and whine that people actually want him to finish his series.

Electric shock from the old electronic typewritter that he uses.

frick him, he needs to finish the damn books and yes he does owe us something. No, we aren't entitled, we're just the people who made him insanely rich and popular for doing something he loves. He's the one that's entitled and needs to get a grip.

I'm not your friend, buddy

holy shite, if only most people could string along their consumers for 5-6 years at a time.
He's under no obligation, but at the same time he seems like he doesn't give a shite about the people who loved his writing, forked over their hard earned money and made him wealthy.
He seems is a huge cocksucker.

I think this is partially true. I think he is so worried about it being a dissapointment that he lingers on every word. His best work came when he wasn't in the spotlight, but that day has come and gone. Now everyone is looking over his shoulder not only demanding greatness, but also demanding it in a timely manner

The flip side of this is companies like Apple that give you something "new" every year, whther it's worth a shite or not.
I'll wait for the story to be told right.

There's a balance for sure, but when you say "frick you" instead of "it's flattering when people enjoy my work to such a degree"
FTR I don't care. He's given the future deets to HBO and they'll only have to bullshite one book when they already know the major details

Knowing Martin it wouldn't surprise me if he changes the book's ending should the show pass him.

You've mistakenly quoted someone else.
I didn't say any of this
I said he's under no obligation but it seems like he doesn't give a shite about his fans...that's typically what I would take from GRRM telling his fans "frick you"

This is a bit different then Apple pushing out the next generation of iPhone.
It's pretty obvious he's all out of fricks to give about this series because he's living it up on what he's already put out. What gets annoying is the multitude of other projects he's put out in the meantime (a ton of novellas, The World of Ice and Fire coming in October, etc) and he has no problem making money off the ASOIAF fanbase with those projects while he flounders on the next book.
And now he wants to tell those who don't want to wait a decade between books to frick off? frick him.

From a writing standpoint I have no reason to distrust him so far. Though this literal "frick you" to fans, his odd behavior in general makes me think that's a possibility
