Felt the same way about the ending.

I've also always had trouble with Amsterdam's motivation to want to kill Bill. I mean, I get it, but outside of Amsterdam himself, did anyone respect and love the priest more than the Butcher? He honored him constantly. Their battle just seemed to be the order of the day, and nothing personal. As crazy as Bill is, he's a pretty strong, surrogate father figure for Amsterdam, took him under his wing to give him a better life.

Bills reasoning for killing the priest and the fact that he took Amsterdam under his wing is what makes him one of those "villains" you root for. The scene where he owns Amsterdam during the assassination attempt is classic.

Another thing that bothered me about this movie. I appreciate that if you're paying DiCaprio to be in a movie, he better damn well look like DiCaprio, but after Bill got done with him, he would've looked like the elephant man with a knife brand scar on his face.

It's ddl's best role but the movie itself is just solid.

I agree, but.... I'll give ol' Scorsese the benefit of the doubt. He has earned it.

My thoughts exactly after watching it... Diaz's accent only annoyed me in the beginning b/c the first half of her sentences was 100% english, and then the last 2 words or so became Irish. It got better as it went on but I have no clue how they didn't reshoot a few of her lines.
