I think that people are gonna pissed about the RW but noone is leaving the show til Joff gets whats coming to him. I think the hate for Joff and the Lannisters is going to keep people coming back.

I can see them doing 4/5 in chrono order rather than the way the books are published. People will be use to the bouncing around, theyll have 4 seasons of it before we get there. Ive read them in published and chrono order and it will work out fine. Gives us 4 years for Martin to get out with book 6. 2 seasons for book 3, 2 for 4/5.

The show/product sales/ etc is a gold mine for HBO. They can afford to produce this out in as many seasons as they want. Even though they loose some viewers along the way, they will always pick some up who will buy the DVDs and catch up on the show.

Seeing the size of DWD they will probably be able to split 6 into 2 seasons too. Possibly carry some of the end story from 5 into begining of 6.

I figure he has about 5 years to get both 6 and 7th out and done.

I'm thinking more like four years from now to get 6 out and one more or two tops to get out the last.

ETA: He has had about two already since Dance. So it is doable.

it's harder to discuss the current episode in here because the discussion goess off deep to the future and speculation. But its near impossible to discuss the show in the other thread.
