Your friends are in for a long viewing experience then. It always seems one sided. The people you hate always seem to have a leg up. It is part of the greatness of GOT. Hopefully in the end the good side comes out on top and it will be like a weight lifted.
Could you imagine how pissed these guys would be if this season ended with Robb and Cat being killed and the last scene is Arya getting hit with an axe.

Yea, the HBO Robb always seems pouty
the book Robb was a bad arse
But i always expected something would happen to Robb since he never had his own Chapter POV
but i didnt expect the Red Wedding
i had to reread the chapter 5 times, because i was thinking "wait, no, they didnt kill robb, it was somebody else... holy frick they killed robb????"

You take the suddenly apparent flayed man banners, plus theon being flayed, plus Roose telling Robb his bastard arrived an found winterfell destroyed and no sign of anyone alive, and it should be pretty easily deduced what happens to anyone paying close attention.

you forget about that insane human emotion that blinds them to what is right in front of their faces
hope
viewers are hoping that Robb can take down the Lannisters, so they're not trying to put this intricate puzzle together... they're not even TRYING... because they want robb to reek havoc.
they will be surprised

You also don't take into account all the different POV. If you only had to follow Rob it would be easier to follow the bread crumbs to his demise (not exactly RW but know he was doomed by death or defeat). But people are trying to keep up with half a dozen different plot lines.

Does anyone else think the RW is going to turn off viewers?
No, I don't think people "love" Robb. Now if John Snow and Dany dies people would flip.

Can't wait for the day after. You think season 3 ends with the reanimation of Uncat?

What do you mean by if? John technically dies. We don't even know for sure he is coming back. That is going to be a great finale. Get to know John for 7 years and boom. He gone.

I'm talking about the show.
Show does not equal book. The writers are taking more liberties. We don't even know if they will even do undead Cat.

I think they save that for season 4. They will toss everyone a bone and kill off Joff in the last episode (just guessing).

I don't know. As far as major plot points they are sticking with the book. They might get away with not using zombie cat but I don't see that happening with the brien and Jamie story line yet to come.

frick it. Just stay away. Let them put in the work and find out the answers. Just read their reactions.

When they post a question for the book readers in their thread, just reply with:
I can't tell you.
