Shae is pretty legit in the show.

So if Hoat and Brave Companions are cut, are they also cutting the scene when Jaime has to fight the bear in the pit? That was a badass scene and I wanted to see it on film.
Vargo Hoat is in the show but they changed his name to Locke

I'm wondering if they are going to put on a rope around his neck after they cut it off.
i'd be okay with them skipping the hot tub scene. nothing good there

Why have the bear and no fight?
Was just saying that it didn't show anything specific in the trailer as to who is in the pit with the bear.

Has been in the show yet? More importantly, does he have a speech impediment?

I'm interested to see how they handle Roose and his ultimate betrayal this season. The guy is a monster. ( As well as his bastard)

Yea Locke is basically taking Vargos spot. Really like Vargo and the BC. Wish they kept that part the same.

I loved the Flayed Man sigil and Theon on the X like on the banners.
This was great. That they cut from the flags to Theon on the X was nicely done. I watch with someone who hasn't read the books, so I kept glancing over to see if she was catching on. Based on the "who the frick is doing this?" remarks, I don't think she noticed.
She went nuts over Ned's beheading, so I have been waiting for this season for a long time now.

Yea they were different but Vargo and his speech impediment made him a great villain.
And I'm guessing there will be no Harwin? I thought it was cool how he was the 1 that was reconnected with Arya. From Winterfell, knew her his entire life, and still wasn't able to recognize her and she had to tell him who she was

a little too obscure i think. there is just too much good stuff to cover
Posted on 4/8/13 at 11:12 am to manwich
Yeah, as soon as The Hound was marched in and I realized they compressed the story, I figured Harwin would be a no-show. Not critical, but it was a nice connection back to Ned and the North.

i watch with my wife
i've read all of the books, she's read none
i have to pause every 5 seconds to explain who people are and remind her about things from the last seasons and the connection with the third season and certain characters
it takes us an hour and half (at least) to watch one episode

Too obscure to put him in the Brotherhood Without Banners? He's basically the only reason Arya goes with them and only tries to escape once. Not like he would take up an entire episode. Plus, were getting 20 hours of just 1 book. So crazy and so awesome. Book 1 and 2 were 10 hours each. Harry Potter would do a book and turn it into a 2 and half hour movie. We're getting 10 hours per book. And 20 hours of the 3rd.
Always thought it was interesting she meets him. It was a connection back to where she was from and who she used to be. When she last saw him, he was her fathers man. In the book, she said I thought you were my fathers man and he says I was but he's dead, now I'm the lightning lords man. Do you understand what I'm saying? And Arya doesn't say anything but she understood that he was not Robb's man and she was a captive. Therefore, an enemy.
I thought that was important in Aryas character development. She trusted Harwin, only to find out that he was no longer a man of Winterfell. Didn't really betray her trust because he doesn't do any harm or anything to her, but it def makes Arya very wary on trusting people. Even ones she knew and used to trust.

To me, it was a good read, but doesn't need to be in the show. They need to get to the Hound vs. Beric, the escape, the Hound taking her and making their way to Riverrun/The Twins.
I still want to know if Robb beheads the Karstark for killing that Lannister they take hostage. I think that is important.

It happens around episode 7/8 I believe. I read plot synopses that leaked but I can't remember where I found them.

I think they've given him too much screen time not to have the execution in the show.
