Tonight’s Arya storyline would’ve been fine, if episode 2 this year never happened.
Y'all are really overthinking this one. The Hound knocked some sense into her. Cersei was dead anyway. And the only thing Arya would have been running toward was her own death - and she once again said "not today"
It's not that she couldn't have killed Cersei but it would have cost her her life.

Damn. Wish I could retro-predict that one. shite.
I’m honestly not sure how you couldn’t see it?
She enjoyed watching her brother die.
She enjoyed killing the masters
She enjoyed killing the Dothraki who opposed her
She enjoyed killing those who didn’t “bend the knee”
She’s killed and killed and killed for 8 seasons and everyone close to her that has kept her in check has been killed.
She didn’t trust anyone. Why trust the Bells?
Go mad and kill kill kill again.
My issue is she killed the women and children. That was too far and was stupid.

I sincerely hope nobody was so blind and stupid to not see what Danny was going to do tonight. Her actions should surprise nobody. What she did to Kings Landing was perfectly fitting her character. It was in season 2 or so when she said she would “lay waste to armies and burn cities to the ground”. And look back on her actions from all the way back to her emotionless reaction to seeing her brother murdered right in front of her eyes to sacking cities, killing thousands, and burning prisoners alive. She’s shown from season one that if anyone crosses her, she will destroy them totally and without remorse.

The people doing this are the same people who talk about GoT for hours on end every week at the office, with the clerk at the store, pretty much with anyone who will listen. They likely host watch parties and somewhat schedule their lives around the show because they have nothing else to look forward to in life
Says the guys who’s constantly posting on a message board about Game of Thrones, who obviously scheduled his Sunday around it because he was posting in game, and who went out of his way during the week leading up to the episode to read the spoilers.
Yeah bro you’re totally not describing yourself here....

How did he know? They were in the midst of wanton destruction and her survival was pure luck to begin with, why not take a chance at securing your final revenge prior to dying if you would likely die anyway?

She freed slaves, helped the oppressed, stopped savages from raping people, etc, but then she just burned an entire city of innocent people, not as collateral damage, but after the fight was over. A bell rang and she went crazy. It was terrrrribbblleeeeeeeee.

Im 100% serious. You haven’t been paying attention.
She wanted to break the wheel. End tyranny. She wanted to be different than her father.
That dream ended when she arrived in Westeros. She realized early on she would never be accepted. It was confirmed during the post-Battle of Winterfell celebration.
She was always more about power than helping the downtrodden. This was her right, her throne. And she showed viciousness if not touches of madness throughout her struggle.
And in the end, she finished what her father started. She didn’t break the wheel. Rather, she became the very tyrant she wished to overthrow. She may have had good intentions but genetics won the war.
Honestly who didn’t see this coming?

Two episodes later, dies beneath rubble in the arms of his sister who’s killed thousands and hired his friend to kill him
Again...y’all are overthinking this one too. It was ALWAYS about Cersei with Jaime. He tried to change, he tried to get away from her, but she was like a drug that he was addicted to. I can definitely see that being a GRRM thing...make his readers fall in love with a previously terrible person of a character only for him to return to form in the end.

Her brother said he'd let every human being and animals rape her to get the throne. The masters literally were enslaving people and raping them and beating them. People who didn't bend the knee were pretty much the people doing the aforementioned things. It's not like she was just enjoying killing good people.

I’m not disagreeing. Is anyone actually reading my posts? Her killing the civilians was stupid.
Her going Mad and killing at the bells was not. It was WHO she killed that was dumb.

The one person she saved had watched her whole family be killed and raped before Dany got there.
If you supported dany she was good to you, but everyone who opposes her died horribly.

You don’t build a character to be one thing for 7 seasons and then have them do a ridiculous heel turn in 2 episodes. Total trash writing. Anyone with a brain thought the madness was a lazy red herring, but they just rolled with it What a disaster.
Yeah, you definitely haven’t been paying attention.

So 2 episodes worth of stuff means more than 8 seasons worth?

I think people can play dumb about her going mad but it became clear that her hunger for all the power showed when she want Jon to not tell anyone his real name.
I didn’t mind Jaime doing what he did. I think Arya was the only one who got shafted. She went from hero to damn near dead without raising her sword this whole battle.
Greyworm going all in wasn’t surprising either. Someone’s got to die next week.

keep deflecting bud. Blind fandom is what allows producers and writers to get away with shite like this.

Too far and too stupid? You answered your own problem with the episode in your own post. The reason she went too far and killed the women and children was exactly what you said. The people around her who kept her in check for so long were all gone. Everyone close to her has either been killed for her or by her. All her closest circle of advisors are gone. She doesn’t trust her Hand anymore and sees his as having betrayed her. And Jon Snow, the man she loves, is now suspect at best if not an outright rival, in her eyes.

Well that's my entire point. If she had killed people as collateral damage, cool. But she literally just obliterated innocent people's homes and was just roasting streets with no Lannister troops in sight. That is completely out of touch with her character of the past 8 years.

She WAS killing good people who didn’t bend the knee in Westeros. Sam’s brother.
And she KNEW it too, Tyrion warned her over and over. She wasn’t this perfect princess liberating people. That’s how she started - but she drifted into being more power hungry every season.
Losing Jorah, 75% of her army, Misandre, 2 dragons, and her trust in Tyrion made her snap.
Again and I say AGAIN because people keep missing this - her killing all the innocents in KL was dumb though.

Exactly. But the episode looked nice so we can overlook this, right?
