well now that she has the iron fleet it's pretty predictable that they're about to lay siege to dragonstone...and it has occurred to me that people don't either appreciate the dragon's capabilities or even believe she has them. just the impression I get from watching.

Why garrison it though? They would be defeated quickly. Or Dany just sails to Dorne instead.

Are people still mad that the "gingers have souls" guy got a role this episode?

Yea that part doesn't make much sense. Jaime knows where they're likely to land, they know they're coming, but don't send any men to dragonstone...meanwhile the Beatles get sent to the river lands within days of the Frey slaughter
I never realized how close dragonstone was to Kings landing. The beatles might have been easily available since the lannisters had just taken the riverlands. The lannisters might not have been able to feed their men at dragonstone especially since winter is coming and the tyrells who have the most food are now enemies. I loved the scene where Jamie pretty much pointed out how fricked they are and are surrounded by enemies on all sides.

Cersei will attack soon because she knows they don't spend the special effects money til the end of the season

I think someone even said she was most likely going to head there. Just feels weak to me.
before the greyjoys re-enter the mix, they don't have the ships, they are waging war across westeros and things are pretty volatile in king's landing.
seems like an easy decision. plus cerseii is horrible at calculating things. she pretty much gave away her power to some cult out of petty personal jealousy, she's a complete moron.

The last time the White Walkers came was thousands of years prior (before the Wall was built) and it was called the Long Night also because the winter lasted for a long time. Normally for them a winter is just a regular winter but it last years instead of months like it does for us. But this winter is expected to be the longest one in several years.

The last time the WW came is so long ago that all that is left is vague legends. I believe the last time they came during the Long Winter was pre-Wall.

yeah it's a total waste. in the books she does retake it at great cost. highgarden loses a lot of lives including loras (which she's happy about)
cersei is not tywin but she's convinced she's just as cunning and intelligent. which is why every long game she plays blows up in her face.

I haven't read the books in a while, have we ever been given any reason why White Walkers come down?

Yes probably, but you would have them on a bunch of boats and if you know they are coming and where they are going, could at least do some major damage. You already have a disadvantage, just seems foolish to let this army with superior weapons land and regroup on the mainland as opposed to setting up an attack for when they arrive.
it doesn't matter in the end, just indicative of somethings that have left a bad taste for me personally in the show.

yeah there's a big ed sheeran concert in king's landing and they don't want to miss it.

So I'm guessing all the Northern lords at least somewhat believe Jon regarding the White Walkers. I guess seeing a giant made them realize that some of the old tales were true.

I discussed some theories a few pages back. The very short answer is that we don't know what the WW's motivation is yet.

Has Dany had any discussions regarding the whitewalkers?
Posted on 7/17/17 at 4:02 pm to Sneaky__Sally
you're talking about believability.
if you think it's stupid to leave it unmanned consider how smart cersei is (not at all)
or
consider that the risk assessment makes leaving it unmanned an easy call.
now if wildfire were safe to transport (and it's not) I would consider blowing it to high hell so that she has no place to stage her invasion.

the northern people are more apt to believe old legends because it is regional history. they believe him but I don't think it is as tough a sell as it is in the south.

Probably not. The only person in her party that would have any knowledge of how the north is now is tyrion who was there before shite hit the fan.
