Libertarians and fantasy go very, very well together.

2nd most.

Cersi killing everyone in the Sept of Baelor in Season 6 is #1.

The directors already said that the Danny surviving the fire when her dragons hatched was a one time thing if I remember correctly. This would imply she's not impervious to fire

Didn't she set the entire Dothraki leadership in fire, and walk right out of it like it was no big deal?

Agreed. All I thought was, "Damn, guy sings pretty good". I thought his acting was on par with all the other actors.

I don't know who Ed Sheeran is, so that didn't affect me at all.

I took the scene as: it was a nice song, and the group of soldiers were overall very nice and decent folk. They were singing softly, they offered a lone young woman food, they were courteous to her, never even approached any line of inappropriate behavior. They all spoke of just wanting to go back to their homes and families.
Even offered her wine "if she's old enough to drink".

Yet, they're Lannister troops that Jaime brought up to help the Freys. She just butchered the whole lot of the Freys, obviously she will do the same to these poor unlucky guys... or, will she? She looks a bit uncertain about it at the end.

Looked like a moment of soul searching for her.
That's what I took away.

She left that fire before it would have consumed her (the second one). I distinctly remember reading about her and the fire thing was a one time thing.

I really don't remember it happening that way. That was one of the reasons everybody was so quick to say wow let's go with this petite little blond--she just walked out of a fire that killed all those tough guys.

It never ceases to amaze me how poorly many people follow shows/movies.

I'm pretty sure that fire at least injures anyone else.

Season one, she was taking a bath, they made a point of saying it was too hot and she'd burn herself. Didn't affect her. Wanted more boiling water poured in.

And the two scenes, hatching the dragons and burning the Dothrakis. She had no weapons there, only fire, so the only way she walks out alive is for them to burn first.

Dany isn't affected by heat, not on the show.

Ok, so we are both sorta right. It was George Martin that said she was not impervious to fire and that the dragon hatching was a one time thing:

quote:

Yes, this happened once before in the series — the season one finale when Daenerys' dragons were born. But author George R.R. Martin, the creator of "A Song of Ice and Fire" (the books on which the show is based) has explicitly stated that Daenerys' survival in the flames was a one time thing.

I thought it was the director(s) that stated this, but it appears I'm wrong about that. Guess they could have changed it from the books. The books and show sort of blend together for me now because its been so long since I read the books. I apologize

You're right. It's changed for the show. It only worked the one time in the book because blood magic was involved.

GRRM said the fire was a one time thing.

The show has shown twice Fire doesn't hurt Dany.

Who knows.

I can't wait till she meets Jon next week lol

think the scene means a little more. the world that arya has lived in for years has been a total matter of life and death and she has never had the chance to just sit back and relax and live a little. thats what that scene did for her. she got to sit down, shoot the shite, drink, and even remanence a little about home while cracking a joke that isnt quite a joke. thats probably the first real and honest interaction she has had with a stranger, or group of strangers, since before her father was executed

i took it as she is just chilling for the night and then shes bouncing and they will never see her again. but i could be wrong

I'm curious to see how Jaime continues to react to Cersei for the remainder of S7. I could tell he was FAR from happy about what she did and how she's acting. IMO I think he's starting to reach that moment of clarity that he had at the end of Feast when he burns her letter as a huge F U to her.

Me neither.

In response to the original post that I brought this up in, I still don't think they would make her being immune to fire in the show some central focal point like using her to give infinite powers to the red woman (I can't spell her name for shite) because it is a deviation from the books.

i think he is finally coming to the realization that has been clear since day one. shes in way over her head, is really awful at playing "the game", and has made their situation infinitely worse by alienating all of their allies

As dangerous as Cerci can be at scheming and manipulation, I think she's getting to the point where she is to arrogant about it, and it's going to be her undoing.

Can't wait for her to find out/see Dany's dragons. Pretty sure I'd just walk away and leave if that's what my enemy was bringing and all I had was fricking swords and bows/arrows.
