yeah, you are right, unless there is a northern route around the lands of always winter, then Meereen may be a closer trip than going around Dorne and then all the way to north Essos.

looked at a map and im sure theyll kind of just say frick it, but its pretty damn hard to sail from the iron islands, to Essos. More than likely youd either have to go all the way north or all the way south, but the most likely way one would go....would be to go West to Assai, although the maps are unclear on how far the sea that way is and how much of assai is actually known

I can't imagine anyone sailing around the lands of always winter, though I am surprised the Ironborn haven't tried just for the sake of it. I think it would be much more likely to sail straight west and come around assai. Maybe it is much closer than people realize, just everyone in the history of the known world has been too pussy to try.

Well I think the obvious path to sail to somewhere in Essos is to sail around Dorne. Afaik, there is no northern route around Westeros. That seems like something someone would have mentioned if people were sailing around the north end of the continent.

Really? I hope Cersei dies.

Me too but I just want to see some Mountian action along with his trial by combat.

It looks similar to attempting to sail from California to Europe by going north. It just runs into the frozen arctic circle and there is no way around.

However, if they could find a way to get their ships across the short stretch of land from Ironman's Bay to the Blue Fork, they could cut across Westeros to Maidenpool and get to the Narrow Sea that way.

I can't remember if he actually said it on the show, but she likely found out from Tywin while she was at Harrenhall. She served all of his meals and was present during all planning discussions.

Well a little brother needs to kill her. I'm guessing Loras does it to get revenge on her.

So I finished book 1 of my first re-read and it's incredible. I highly recommend it to anyone who hasn't done a second read through.

AGoT is really the most well-written of the series.

Deserved all the awards bigtime.
