She burned Rattleshirt in Mance's place, that's right.
Mance admitted his bluff, anyway.

Overall I agree that something was up during the Arya stabbing. I can't see how a 10-12 year old survives those wounds, plus sepsis. I also though haven't seen a theory that fully makes sense.
If Jaquen wanted the Waif dead and was willing to intervene himself then I think the Waif stands no chance. I don't see Arya paying an innocent person to get stabbed given that she just balked at killing Lady Crane. If this is truly meant to be some final test for Arya (and possible the Waif) then why does Jaquen intervene. If Jaquen wants to pay off Arya's third death then he could have done this much more simply.
I'm interested to see how this plays out but the various motivations just seem confusing at this point.

Damn I completely forgot about that. I need to read the books again.

And the Waif BURIED that blade to the hilt and TWISTED.
That ain't no flesh wound.

Why are they corny? I mean dragons and shadow babies... Whatever.... Magic horns? Get fricked.
We only know of one actual magic horn that purportedly came from Valyria. That whole city was steeped in magic so that isn't out of place in the show.

The stabbing was way too weird not to be something behind it. I don't think anyone has nailed it correctly yet, but something happened there
The old lady bit was so fricking obvious, and her strolling down lollipop lane like she had nothing better to do didn't make sense
Not to mention she is second on my list of "people that there's no fricking way they die for a while" behind JON.

If that WAS Arya that took that stabbing...she ded.
So, it wasn't her.

Yeah that was fricking brutal.
I guess one theory I can buy is that Jaquen was testing if the Waif was honest when she indicated she wouldn't make Arya suffer. This the Waif failed her test. What if Arya was supposed to refuse to kill Lady Crane. Therefore Jaquen comes to bring her back to the temple, but freaked out Arya is done which leads to the chase we see in the trailer.
Alternatively Jaquen tasks Arya to kill the Waif now and the chase we see is actually Arya chasing down the Waif?
I am a bit foggy on some of the details of the House of Black and White, but I thought they viewed death as a peaceful gift. If the killing of Lady Crane was purely personal by faux-Sansa then Arya shouldn't have complied?

Yeah, I saw this criticism coming. Fantasy is cool but it has it's limits... Too much magic bullshite and the story becomes watered down.

Again though, one magical horn to tame dragons which is recovered from a city whose entire empire was built on magic and dragons doesn't seem like too much fantasy.
The zombies, dragons, prophecy, shadow babies, and more are all "more fantasy" than one horn.

I don't understand why Arya can't die.
What exactly is she living for?
Seems like the best thing for her is to stumble into the house of black and white and ask for the death juice.
I mean, do you guys really expect Arya to make it to the end?
I do not.

I think most expect a little more resolution to her storyline than this seemingly random way to die.
I personally think she was stabbed and will get picked up by one of the Lord of Light red ladies.

Her dying makes her entire arc worthless and a big time waster the past couple seasons
And yeah, I can see her there at the end. She will meet Mel again atleast

100% expect Arya to be alive at the end. I have my reasons.

My only complaint for this episode is Yara. She was straight in the books and her being a lesbian in the show irks me. "Yeah she's a tough bitch so let's make her a lesbian."
You seem a bit too upset over this. Perhaps you are wishing Yara was playing with your breasts instead?

Yara was also called Asha in the books.
My point here is regardless of her sexual preferences, both book Asha and show Yara are sexual bitches. Does it really matter who she's fricking?

What matters is she's not fricking me god damn it
Posted on 6/6/16 at 5:54 pm to Hugo Stiglitz
I guess it mattered enough to d&d to change it.

Asha/Yara actually makes some weird sense. She is clearly as "ironborn" as the rest of her crew. Whoring seems to be a significant past time for them, so she fits in on that angle. She was raised as Balon replacement son since most of his sons were killed (and Theon was a hostage).
I think Brienne gives a solid example of a straight "butch" woman, so why not? The original books certainly had homosexual characters and scenes. That was men and women....
