What am I missing? What was the point of that speech? If they didn't kill her after roasting their leaders, then they were already behind her.
The already bowed to her. Seems like they didn't have an exciting moment to wrap the episode so they tossed that in.
Liked the episode just felt that last bit was pointless.

It was my second favorite, a lot better than episode 1.
Dany is dragging the show down though

Takeaways
Sam taking the dads sword to learn how to mass produce dragon-glass WW killing sticks.
Jaime and Brienne back together next week?
I'm guessing the Cersei trial by combat is the Mountain vs the Sand Snakes? I expect them to be involved somehow and I can't see how any random monk would be a worthy opponent.
The most interesting part was the shots of the Mad King in the beginning, boring ep with no Tyrion or Jon Snuh.

Weakest episode of the season by far
Last week's had the big ending, but was dogshit otherwise. Thought this one was mostly good the whole way through. The quality isn't quite up there with the first 4 seasons, but it's still good and there's so much going on that I don't mind the moderate dip in quality.
I've enjoyed every episode of the season EXCEPT maybe last week's.

Why are you in this thread?

The Dany on a dragon moment came out of nowhere....kind of a weirdly placed event. I guess they wanted to establish that she was firmly invested in going across the narrow sea? Did the Dothraki even change her mind away from Mereen?
Just a weird timing.

Hype up the soldiers. You don't really need to tell an NFL team to get ready for a game, yet every team has a pre-game ritual. I do think Dany was a bit premature, though. They're going to get back to that big city with Tyrion and Varys (Vereen?) and chill for a while before they get the ships they need. Wonder if the Iron Island fleet is headed out there. I believe that the Iron Uncle mentioned something about Dany needing ships and how a marriage would suit them. Maybe Theon and Sis know about it as well.

You definitely are taking crazy pills
Sansa telling off Littlefinger, finding out the children created the white walkers, Tyrion hiring the red priestess and her scaring the shite out of Varys, Sansa convincing Jon and Davos to rally the northern houses, and Brienne heading to find the Blackfish. Those things ALONE made for a better episode than this one and that's not even including last week's ending.

Not really. Either the final or second to last episode of S5 showed that the dragons are a bit unreliable. Dany needed to escape from all of the Arabs on horses and Drogon didn't give a frick. Dany was ready to ride the Drogon for a while to show the Dothraki what's up (all of the Dothraki that had seen her with dragons were either dead or had only seen the baby versions). She made a spectacle when the opportunity finally arose. Makes sense to me.

I'll have to give last week's another watch. I was kind of drunk when I watched it.

And WTF is Sam going to do with the Valyrian steel sword? Did Jon tell him that it works against the White Walkers? The smartest thing he could do would be to head straight back to whence he came and give it to Jon (even though he already has one). Brienne or the wildling ginger could use one.

More mad King flashbacks please. Just realized its Ian McShane

Another poster above had a good point that Sam took the sword to maybe learn how to mass produce the steel again in the war against the WWs

Call me crazy, but Gilly had a pretty sweet set up had Sam just left her there. Especially after his dad established he wouldn't kill her or the child. Sure, he would've always been a dick to her, but the mom and sister seemed cool and the child would've had a decent life.
They filmed it like it was supposed to be an "F-YEAH!" moment when Sam came back to get her, but it didn't hit me like that at all.
