Isn't the reach army supposed to be 70k strong? I think I remember that.

World of Ice and Fire says the largest army ever in Westeros was when the King of the Reach and the King of the Rock joined together against Aegon on the Field of Fire. 63K

What exactly do we know about the Knights of the Vale...besides they fight with honor and die like Rhaegar?

I find myself putting them on a pedastal, but the only time we saw one in action, Bronn routed that arse.

I hope LF doesn't bring the Knights Who Say "Ni!" to Bastard Bowl.

Did they make this clear on the show?

I don't remember anything like that, unless it was a brief discussion between Jon and Stannis that I missed or missed the details.

(ETA: And that reminds me of ANOTHER divergence. Asha/Yara was captured and ultimately ended up in Stannis' custody at some point. She was a prisoner during the march to WF. Not only is she in Pyke for the Kingsmoot - which happened somewhat earlier in the books - but so is Theon for the show.)

Are non-book readers who pay attention and have a clue welcome here? I had to pull the rip cord on the Hodor thread.

I have been here for a while. This is actually an insightful thread and anything that you don't already know is just a Wiki away to be on the same page.

The Hodor thread is the mental equivalent of being tortured by Ramsay.

The reason they're so successful at home is because of the terrain, and The Eyrie castle has never been taken because it's impossible to get an army up there.

Kujo just went full Hodor in the Hodor thread. On my way to the hospital I think I have cancer now from reading it.

Is what Tyrion doing with the masters working against Daenerys?

Is what Quaith stated about "beware of Lion and Griffin" starting to happen?

Edt: This is the quote.
quote:

"The glass candles are burning. Soon comes the pale mare, and after her the others. Kraken and dark flame, lion and griffin, the sun's son and the mummer's dragon. Trust none of them. Remember the Undying. Beware the perfumed seneschal.

Obviously Victarion (or whomever in the show)

quote:

dark flame

Moqorro

quote:

lion

Tyrion

quote:

griffin

Jon Connington - literally "Griff"

quote:

the sun's son

Quentyn

quote:

the mummer's dragon

Aegon/Young Griff

ETA: Think how many of these characters just aren't in the show at all - even as a competent replacement. For all practical purposes, Jorah takes the place of some, but not all of the missing characters.

I know...

But what i'm saying is it seemed last night in S6:E4 that the Tyrion was starting to plot against, no?

The show fckks with me sometimes because I have bias from the books.

Yea but they still might go down this road with some.

Is that quote from the book, or the show? I can't remember if we actually got that prophecy on the show (we probably did, I just don't remember it).

Not in the show. She only talks with Jorah in the show and says that one cryptic message North to go South shtt.

It certainly isn't as detailed in the show. The broader point is probably moot - Dany is already predisposed to not trust anyone who hasn't proven it over and over. The Jorah reveal on that one has been tough for her to recover.
