I'm kind of interested in what Tyrion's plan is with the Masters. I just don't see a 7 year grace period being his true plan considering he knows that (a) Dany sure as hell isn't going to go for that, and (b) even if Dany was willing to compromise on that, Tyrion knows she isn't going to stick around Essos that long. So I wonder if that is really his plan.

Reason why i'm wondering if Quaithe's prophecy from the books to not trust Tyrion is playing out here.

Yea, just gets them back West.

Tyrion is trying to buy peace and time for as long as he can so that they can get to Westeros. He sees it as the best play to keep things from spiraling out of control.

I dunno, if Danny goes and takes over Westeros she would have 5 years (give or take) to consolidate her strength before their time limit was up. If they fail to comply she has three big arse dragons (hopefully tamed by then) and an entire continent at her beck and call. She could then frick up those two cities.
Overall I think Tyrion is just throwing out an offer he knows won't be accepted to play for time. Meereen doesn't have the troops to win a war so he has almost no leverage at the moment.

This is what I got out of it, but all the pointless yammering with Greysendei clouded his intentions.
Really chaps me that T-Man has to explain himself to anyone, much less them.
Frigging Entourage wanna-bes.

Specify please - at least the subject matter.
ETA: Literally the only thing of any significance that has not been seen on the show, but has been resolved in the books is the Kingsmoot - unless I'm horribly mistaken...

Maybe he's mistaken this thread for the non-reader thread.
Otherwise I'm really confused.

Is there any reason to trust Quaithe over Tyrion? The Red Pristesses can certainly lie or mistake their prophecies.
Posted on 5/16/16 at 3:56 pm to CorporateTiger
Not for me, there isn't.
Spoiler McSpoilface.
ETA: I have a real hard time remembering when I read about Q. I mean, I know I did...but it didn't stay with me I suppose I was underwhelmed by her in the books. I do remember her prophecy tho.
Wait, wasn't the ship Ty was on called something that translated into Perfumed Seneschal?

I bet dany comes back and sides with greysendei. She will do some breaker of chains BS. She may have the army now to do it right but there was no way for Tyrion to know that she come back with a Mongol army.
i am curious to see how westeros handles foreign invaders with her tendency to poop on the culture.

If you read any of the wiki sites they almost all way the power of Highgarden is 100 thousand men.

If you don't tell us even broadly what it covered or why you think it is a spoiler, we can't self police (if necessary) or explain why it isn't a spoiler. I don't consider a single word of the (published) novels as spoiler - other than possibly the result of the Kingsmoot and the Epilogue. Why? Simply because there has been divergence and obviously if it hasn't happened in the show, it is unlikely to happen.
Plus this is the bookreaders thread. I understand (and we should avoid) anything from the leaked TV spoilers and even things from the "leaked" chapters that hasn't happened yet (and I may be guilty of some mild versions of that - such as a replacement of the non-existent Young Griff's army, just as an example, but that isn't significant to the story yet and we don't know if a replacement will even occur) - but beyond that, I have no idea what you're talking about being "spoilerish" of posts since the show aired last night.

That was the high number I saw, which is unmatched by another single great house (plus bannermen) - and, even assuming it is a theoretical maximum, that should make them the largest potential force in Westeros.
My analysis of Jaime's comment about '2nd' remains that he means - "in the area." If they're implying that either Casterly Rock OR The Vale is larger, I think that is contrary to the source material.

This is the bookreader thread, anything that has happened in the books can be discussed here. The only thing that can't be discussed here are actual episode leaks, and I haven't seen one episode leak in this thread.
Again, book material is fair game in this thread. That is its purpose.

Yes he will. He is in other book reader threads, AND spoiler threads. Sounds like he was doing his best Cokes imitation - just doesn't have the TBI to back it up.
