hasn't read a single page of the books, but he watches all of the background things on the BluRays and he doesn't miss a single word in the show. he knows more than some of the readers in here. welcome aboard.

Not sure why people are so preoccupied with this? I've never thought that each story in a particular episode is taking place at precisely the same time as the others. Some may be. Some may not. They are just presenting the story in a way that helps the viewers put it all together. Maybe LF's little meeting at the Vale took place a month ago. When Sansa left Winterfell did she really make it to Castle Black in a few days? Maybe weeks went by between the end of last episode and the beginning of this one. It's not necessarily the very next day.

I think Littlefinger is definitely meeting Sansa in secret ahead of the Knights of the Vale getting there.
He wants to negotiate with Sansa. He helps take out Ramsey and his army, and she marries him, giving him a claim to both Winterfell, the Dreadfort, and the de facto leader of the Vale.

All that's fair. But, we're not talking even a few weeks. 3 or 4 months of traveling between the Vale and Castle Black, by land. But, I get your larger point - and, as I suggested, we're suspending disbelief for dragons, wights, etc. It's just that the North is this massive, hostile, impenetrable land for invaders when it suits the plot, and just easily bypassable when Stannis or LF want to drop a whole army in somewhere.
That's all I'm saying.

I was always under the impression that Ramsay wrote the letter in the books, as well. And that everything he stated in the letter was true.
I just couldn't get behind the idea that it came from someone else in an attempt to get Jon to break his vows. I always assumed Sansa was headed to Castle Black with Theon - who may or may not have left for home before she got there - which is why Ramsay kept repeating to Jon he wanted his wife back.

The combined might of the north is probably somewhere south of 10k at the moment (likely reduced further by another battle).
Danny has about 20k troops plus three dragons. Argon showed up with just three dragons and see how that turned out. Especially if Dorne sided with her, Westeros is fricked.

I can see Dany rolling down through Slaver's Bay and wrecking the masters once and for all. But, then what? Leave a large contingent of Dothraki as an occupation force? I don't see that as being their strong suit. Or them listening to whatever government she leaves behind. But, then how to get them over?
The assumption has been that Victarion will bring them over, but he's deleted in the show. So, now what? Bringing just the unsullied, who are very disciplined and orderly would be a big task. Bringing the horde with all their horses and camp followers? There aren't enough ships - so she'll just use whatever ships she gets. But, yes a massive horde of Dothraki, the unsullied will be enough to start the offensive - we must assume that Dorne rallies to them against Cersei, as will a number of houses with Targ nostalgia. The whole point of leaving Cersei in charge (Varys' plan in the books, anyway) is to have her mess things up so badly to prep the battlefield for a Targaryen to return and have some popular draw.

I doubt any of that matters. I think by the end of it every remaining army and character will be joined to take on the White Walkers/Others.

I think that on the show, Asha will take Victarion's place, and bring Dany's army over. I think she will try to align with Dany in order to oust Euron, probably at Theon's advice.

I wonder how big of an army the Knights of the Vale is on the show. I read where GRRM speculated that in the books, it was roughly the size of Robb's army at the start of his war. That's why it was such a big blow when the Vale didn't side with Robb.
So if the Vale army in the show is close to the books, then they are around 18,000 strong. That is a pretty legit sized army after the Wars of the Five Kings, and far bigger than the Bolton army.
