This is what I posted in the Home thread... This is my worry... Ramsey's soldiers catch up with Brienne/Sansa on their way to Castle Black. They kill Brienne and bring Sansa back to Winterfell. Production reports during the off season talk about Jon and Sansa confronting Ramsay in Winterfell but no mention of Brienne. I like Brienne don't want to see her die, but it's about time for D&D to kill off someone we really like. Either way, i don't think i'll like who/what ever Ramsay's gift is.
. . .
Don't read this reply if you don't want to read trailer/set photo type spoilers. (Pretty sure they were official HBO/GoT photos and it's nothing terribly recent though):
. . .
That is not going to happen because set photos (and maybe a season 6 trailer, I can't remember) showed that Brienne and Pod are in the Riverlands later in the season. They showed them standing in front of a Tully banner.

Not what will happen per 'speculation' that I have read.

Ok, well if it's not "going to happen" why preface it with "don't read this reply" if there's something about Brienne in the Riverlands later in the season?? You just dropped the same information that I did. Wow.

I am afraid for Brienne this week. I remember the flashbacks at the beginning ep.1 making a point to play the part when she says her sword's name is Oathkeeper.

I really hope Sansa doesn't get caught again. That would suck.

I'm not following what you're trying to say here. I thought you were worried about Brienne being killed in this episode.
I was just trying to say that if you are not adverse to information from trailers and set photos you can rest easy. She is not going to be killed in this episode because she appears in Riverrun later on in the season.
I put the space and the "don't read if you don't like info from trailers/set photos out of an abundance of caution because there may be some people who like to avoid that type of info.
I wasn't trying to offend you in any way.

Hate to crack your theory but there is footage of Brienne and Pod in the riverlAnds she does not die at the hands of Ramsey.

She'll get "caught", but it won't be by Ramsay. I'm thinking they'll run into LF before they reach the Wall. I hope that doesn't happen, and she gets to reunite before the Battle of the Bastards, but I have a sinking feeling that it will.

Best sequence of the entire saga:
"I looked for you on the Trident,” Ned said to them. “We were not there,” Ser Gerold answered. “Woe to the Usurper if we had been,” said Ser Oswell. “When King's Landing fell, Ser Jaime slew your king with a golden sword, and I wondered where you were.” “Far away,” Ser Gerold said, “or Aerys would yet sit the Iron Throne, and our false brother would burn in seven hells.” “I came down on Storm's End to lift the siege,” Ned told them, and the Lords Tyrell and Redwyne dipped their banners, and all their knights bent the knee to pledge us fealty. I was certain you would be among them.” “Our knees do not bend easily,” said Ser Arthur Dayne. “Ser Willem Darry is fled to Dragonstone, with your queen and Prince Viserys. I thought you might have sailed with him.” “Ser Willem is a good man and true,” said Ser Oswell. “But not of the Kingsguard,” Ser Gerold pointed out. “The Kingsguard does not flee.” “Then or now,” said Ser Arthur. He donned his helm. “We swore a vow,” explained old Ser Gerold. Ned’s wraiths moved up beside him, with shadow swords in hand. They were seven against three. “And now it begins,” said Ser Arthur Dayne, the Sword of the Morning. He unsheathed Dawn and held it with both hands. The blade was pale as milkglass, alive with light. “No,” Ned said with sadness in his voice. “Now it ends.”

I think the max extent the R+L=J theory will go is either being what we already expect, R+L=J, or possibly being R+L=J+M.
I've seen some comments that the show Meera resembles Jon Snow and whatnot(I know the books' Meera is described not as similar), but I don't think it would be too far-fetched to include her as another baby along with Jon. If anything, it kind of gives her show arc some substance besides being told she basically has to spend the rest of her days protecting Bran. We could just have the show introduce us to Howland Reed with he and Ned being the final two survivors of the ToJ, Ned goes to Lyanna, sees she has twins, makes him promise, and Ned decides to take Jon, while Howland takes Meera. If I was Ned, that is what I would do if I was adamant about honoring my sister's last wish. Now that I think back to any interaction with Lyanna and Howland, I believe she's the mystery knight who enacted revenge on the kids picking on Howland. It would work even better if we found out that her promise ended up including Howland in some form, or if he simply decided to raise one of her children as a form of gratitude.
Also, if the 3ER and Bran witness the ToJ, and they see that Lyanna has Jon and Meera, with Howland taking Meera, he would suddenly know how much more important Meera is to him when he logs off weirwood.net.
Like I said, I really think the ToJ will happen just as we expect, but if for some reason it turns out differently in any way, I don't think it will be much different or do anything to change the current story arc we believe is occuring/will occur.

Random thought: Bran made mention of Hodor's size and him being able to fight. We didn't see it but it alluded to something. Wouldn't it be something if Hodor had to take on the Mountain?

The problem with that is George RR Martin has previously confirmed that Jon is older than Daenerys.

I'm not going to lie, I'm worried about this scene. This scene combines crucial plot information with a lot of different emotions. It will require some high quality acting.

So do we have an idea of how long Jon Snow was actually dead? It seems like these events may have gone down in the span of about a day.
