Yeah you can't really have a Targaryen hiding under every rock.
I think it is better to say that Tyrion is just really familiar with dragons and a remarkable scholar. Anyway, I wanted to throw that out there.

I think it confirmed Tyrion will be the 3rd dragon rider.

I may lose my shite if Tyrion ends up riding on a dragon into Vaes Dothrak to rescue Danny

That's fine and all, but if you think it's the most unlredictable fantasy series ever, you should really read more.
I've read plenty. You are speaking in hindsight about a series that started 20 years ago. That's fine and all, but you sound like an asshat

The secret theory is that the mad king had an affair with / raped Tywin's wife when he was the Hand. That explains his abrupt departure and also Tyrion's fricked up appearance (since the Mad King had some screwed up genes). So theoretically Tyrion may be a Targaryen.

Seems believable judging by the way Tywin hated him so much.
Tywin would have had Tyrion killed if he wasn't really his son.
I am firm believer in tywin secretly kinda liked Tyrion. Their aunt says as much to Jamie in Feast. The problem was that Tywin saw too much of himself in Tyrion but was too crappy of a father to do anything about it. They both whored around, tywin saw it as weakness and failed to stop his son from doing the same.
Tywin was a tough love guy. Reading was important so he forced his dyslexic son Jamie to study for hours to "beat" the dyslexia out of him.
it is safe to say Tyrion just the perfect combo of nerd and big dick swagger

But there are a lot of people that absolutely detest this theory...and I mean detest it.
ETA: And I didn't even see Dire Wolf's post before I posted this.

They didn't have DNA tests back then. Certainly if he seriously suspected it. This is why I don't think there is much to it. Too much disjointed evidence is tossed out. Something about Tywin and Joanna's bedding ceremony, Aerys mentioning he thought Joanna was attractive, then their split many, many years later (clearly over Jaime, too, not anything to do with Joanna).

I totally agree. When he expressed contempt for Tyrion's weakness, it is his own weakness he is externalizing. And although Jaime losing his hand forced him to become more "Tywin"-like, Tyrion never having the ability to kill problems with swords made him more like Tywin than any of his children. Cersei thinks she is like Tywin, but can't pull it off because she's too impulsive and emotional. Jaime was more like her before he lost his hand. Now he's more like Tyrion/Tywin.

I don't have the evidence on hand but I am pretty there is proof that the Joanna and MK weren't in the same place 9 months before.

There are rumors that Joanna had given her maidenhead to Prince Aerys the night of Jaehaerys' coronation

incredible episode.
question.. why is everyone so obsessed with the Kingsmoot? I thought the iron islands were such a boring subplot when reading those chapters. Just felt like GRRM was trying to get more words on paper. I know pirates are cool and shite but it just doesn't excite me.
note: Ill take Iron Islands stuff over Dorne stuff anyday, FWIW

This. Someone who hated the theory as much as I do actually mapped it all out and it didn't happen. I think it's important to remember the order of breakdown between Aerys and Tywin, being that they were best friends when they were young. First was the gossip that it was really Tywin who ruled. Then Aery's groping Joanna during the bedding ceremony. Refusing to wed Cersei to Rhaegar. Raising Jaime to Kingsguard. If a man as proud as Tywin felt Aerys had gotten his wife pregnant with a child that killed his beloved wife, he wouldn't need the Cersei refusal and Jaime Kingsguard appointment to leave King's Landing.

It's off to a really good start. I never liked anything out of Dorne, either in the books or the show. I definitely skip those chapters on rereads. Euron is always entertaining on the page though, and I like Asha's character. So it's got that over Dorne.

I thought Eurob coming back as a huge badass was one of the better parts of the book. A huge upgrade over book-Dorne which is itself a huge upgrade over show-Dorne.

Give it up. It's a stupid theory.
BTW, Tormund's Wyndam hotel commercials have really cranked up recently. He must have assured them (without breaching his contract) that his character has a very big part to play soon.
That's a theory I can get behind.

Or it would just be, ‘Fine, Jon Snow’s dead.’ But it seems like people had a, similar to the Red Wedding episode, kind of grief about it. Which means something I’m doing — or the show is doing — is right.”
