The entire story has been leading up to this, wtf are you talking about?

Kick to the head by a horse would be the obvious choice.

I really thought young Benjen was gonna frick him up. Kinda glad they didn't show what happened.

The Bolton storyline is by far my favorite right now. That's the best writing the show writers have done thus far.

I'm sorry. But frick Jon Snow being alive. Such a fricking cop out to keep a popular character alive.
What are you talking about? There is no way that Jon's story was over. We still haven't heard about his mother (and father) despite the clues. He is, at least part of if not fully, A Song of Ice and Fire. Anyone with half a brain could figure out his story wasn't near complete.

Old Nan said he'd always be a stable boy before dragging him off. My guess is a horse kick to the head.

I'm just disappointed in the 3 Eyed Raven. In the book he's basically part of the tree, but now he is just an old dude sitting in branches. I could see them making him normal while he and Bran are "dreaming", but I really wanted the scary, stuck with roots look while they were having current dialogue. Oh well, that's minor I guess. Very good episode

ok, so the panning back and forth between Jon and Ghost... relevant? did he warg?

Oh. My. God
Wow.
Seriously, it's going to take DAYS to process all of that:
- RIP Roose. And he said Manderly (
)
- So friggin excited about JS and then a TOJ preview. Wow. It's all happening.
- Theon returning to Pyke, Euron's arrival (fantastic casting with his likeness to Theon BTW), and the Kingsmoot.
- FrankenMountain smashing heads.
Just so much to process.

Are we sure that Theon won't go back to Winterfell to continue his punishment?

Doc-tah Jones I am disappoint.
No doubt your opinion is soured by your grief over recent issues at...over there?

I love Jon but the fact that his character, and his assumed arc going forward, mirrors Aragorn so much makes me feel like this is a LOTR reskin. Like really.
Aragorn's (Jon's) parents (R+L) die and he is raised by his ancestor (Ned) the lord of Rivendale (Winterfell). They hide his true heritage until later and he becomes a Ranger (Night's Watch). Eventually he faces that he is Gondor's heir (Prince who was promised/Jon Targaryen), reforges Isildur's Blade (Light Bringer), and helps defeat Sauron (Great Other). In the end he sits the throne.

At the end of the episode, D&D said the Starks always had a strong connection to their direwolves, and Ghost could sense Jon coming back. No mention of warging, so it's pretty safe to assume Jon wasn't in ghost. That would have been a pretty big detail for D&D to leave out.
