I don't want Tyrion or Jorah to get greyscale. So look for both to have it before the end of the season.

Which reminds me. Did anyone else notice that Ser Ilyn was dropped from Arya's list? I guess the show is done with him.

It is curious. He quit the show because he was diagnosed with terminal cancer, but he survived his battle and who knows. He may make a return next season.

The show may have kept him off the list as he may have still been in a bad way when they filmed this season.

Didn't know that.
quote:

Johnson underwent the dangerous operation despite the chance that it might threaten his life, because if he did not take the chance he would certainly die within a matter of months anyway. The operation (which was so rare that the procedure doesn't have a formal name) removed the large tumor, as well as Johnson's pancreas, spleen, a section of his stomach and intestines (both large and small), and also removed and reconstructed some of the blood vessels connecting to his liver. Due to the removal of his pancreas the operation rendered him a diabetic for the rest of his life. The operation lasted for 11 hours, and the removed tumor weighed 3 kg (over 6.5 lb).

On October 22, 2014, Johnson publicly appeared at the Q Awards, annual music awards run by the music magazine Q, where he received the Q Icon award. Johnson stated that the operation had apparently succeeded in removing all of the cancer from his body. He had recovered enough strength to appear at the public awards event, but said he would still face many months fully recovering from his grueling surgery. Johnson remarked, "It's so weird and so strange that it's kind of hard to come to terms with it in my mind. Now, I'm spending my time gradually coming to terms with the idea that my death is not imminent, that I am going to live on."[4] He went on to say, "They cured me. So I'm hoping to get all my strength back soon and get back on the road. So the moral of this story is, you never know what's going to happen."[4]

Can someone refresh my memory on who these people are?

People who are covered with greyscale and live in a kind of leper colony near Volantis. They're known for attacking passing boats, and greyscale can be transmitted through touch.

Maybe Barristan and GW are only seriously wounded and aid will arrive in time?

If Tyrion can survive an axe to the face, Selmy better damned well be able to survive a flesh wound.

That's right. I don't remember them being called the stonemen.

They are called stonemen in the book quite a bit.

Well, they probably are. I've only read everything once through and didn't take notes. I tried looking them up on Fire and Ice but nothing came up

IIRC greyscale covers your entire body and you go mad or into some feral state.

I liked the story about the doll in the show.

Part of me was waiting for him or her to call the doll by its name, Patchface.

I mean, she could be considered a "patchface" D/D sure are ramping up what we theorize has important:

Greyscale
R+L=J
Night's King (even though it's been a while)
High Sparrow

Does the stuff they pass over make you realize it's not important to the end game, or do you wonder if they are making their own end to the game?

Uncat
Balon
Mance
Barristan dying (which I love his sample chapter)
Sansa's change

And most importantly to me..Where the F is Beric and Thoros? I love those guys

I think the stuff they pass over is not important to the endgame.

I think part of it might be to keep interest in the books while the show passes them up. People who are pissed about Barristan dying can always pick up the next book and read about him. From the looks of things, the books and show are becoming two different stories altogether.

Well, Beric is supposed to be dead by now, but there's no UnCat, so who the hell knows. Gendry is still out on the rowboat somewhere, but I think the show has just lost interest in him. I guess that makes sense. We haven't heard from Edrick Storm since he sailed away.

One of the Hodors said there was a major show-spoiler rumor out there, but I don't want to look for it.

I think this is part of why *some* book readers lose their shite when there are changes. Years of theories only to find out a lot of it isn't really going to matter.
