Tywin dead, Hound dead, some sort of ridiculous Frankenstein mountain coming up? Blah...this show may be on the decline.

I think (and hope) this is the case as well. Cersei is being careless and going to confirm to everyone that Tommen isn't the true king. The Lannisters are on the downfall and it's about fricking time.

Not anymore. With Tywin dead, I don't think there's any reason to tell everyone Tommen isn't a Baratheon. She can likely call off her own wedding to Loras and let Margery marry Tommen and sex him all up all up to keep the Tyrells happy.

The lannisters are all really excellent characters. The fewer of them, the worse for the show.

Ah. I remember. Tyrion gave Shae the necklace he uses to strangle her.

Christ, I hope not.

I love how Varys noped the frick out of going back to KL. His face said it all. Loved that part

Shae's face when she rolls over in bed saying "My Lion" expecting to see Tywin and there is Tyrion. It was my favorite part of the episode. She knew she was fricked and there was no escaping it.

Did we all recognize the irony of Tyrion killing his father on Father's Day?

I really can't buy Shae's motivations. It is completely unclear. I mean, just to get back at Tyrion? It's plain as day that he's doing it to protect her.
So she goes and sells him out to the man that only ever refered to her as "That whore?" And then she also willingly sells out Sansa too? For what?
I put that squarely on the writing staff.

I really hope they find a way for the various storylines to start playing together again next season, though I'd be surprised.
I've recently done a bit of a re-watch of s1 and s2 and I was struck by how comparatively tight the story is by comparison to now. Characters in various parts of westeros were making moves and choices based on events happening in other areas that they heard and knew about. None of that happens anymore. I felt like this season had awesome stuff happen but that overall the story feels extremely disjointed.

I don't think there's anything wrong with the writing. Tyrion basically called her a whore to get her to leave, and maybe flat out called her a whore. Once she felt that Tyrion had lied to her and jilted her, she reverted back to her earlier whore past and went full on feral whore.
Whore.

Because it turns out that she really was just a simple whore. That's what I got anyways.

That all seems inevitable. At the beginning the factions of characters were largely nearby each other, plus a lot more visible characters were alive then. So much more likely for word to travel around through people we see active.
But by now, everyone is spread all over the place. Half of everyone we knew is dead. How could there possibly be something connecting people together now? Everyone has their own problems. I'm sure they'll all meet again, but most will be dead before then anyway at this rate.
*sigh* Every character I like is dying. The Hound, Oberyn, the Night's Watch save for Jon and Sam, Tywin...
If Tyrion, Barristan, and Arya die, I'm quitting.

I'm more shocked by Tywin's actions than Shae's. He's made himself out to be this moral man who hates whores, but lo and behold, look who is in his bed...
