I normally agree with your view of spoilers, but I think you're taking it a little too far in this particular instance.

See the bottom part of my edit above...I'm not accusing anybody of anything, just trying to make sure we don't cross onto that path.

you'd think the last half of the last book will be some sort of huge war against white walkers. everyone that hasn't been assassinated by GRRM will show up. Khaleesi will fly in with dragons, help win the war. her and jon snow live happily ever after. the boltons flay Cersei. (Disney version, minus the flaying)

however it will probably go like this. all the lannisters will turn into white walkers and destroy everyone, the end.

At this point, I won't put it past GRRM to create some sort of massive nuke that just kills everyone in the end. Dude not only hates happy endings, but loves killing off important people.

Either that or like Mountain and Cersei end up together and reign over all the bad guys from the series and they all just party all the time and celebrate that every good person that ever lived is dead.

I think as long as we don't have readers in here commenting on the speculation, it shouldn't be an issue.

I do like Don's idea of a HODOR crackpot theories thread though, just to keep it separate from episode discussion.

Right, but if those theories and speculation are coming from the perspective of a bookreading knowledge base, then it definitely goes against the point of this thread. That's all I'm saying.

The one thing I posted that I have now deleted is a theory some Hodors on the board came up with from The History of Westeros youtube videos which are the DVD extras for season 1 I think.

and, how far are the dragons from king's landing, that gif of the dragon flying over the city...is that going to happen this season or not?

It did happen this season. It happened when Bran touched the tree.

And I didn't even watch that and postulated the same theory (crackpot though it may be).

I think it's actually a good theory, makes the most sense imo.

meh, why? people we never met, both without any implications to the future, and how would the truth ever be revealed?

with benjen, benjen could tell him....not really a big deal..."okay, so not ned, you"(and nothing changes)

but with Cersi/Robert...Cersi could know, and have told her servant to give him to Ned or the servant can show up with the news....but the implications of being the "rightful heir"(first born son of the King/Queen)...would be HOOGE

The only hard part is how would he find out, probably from someone that we haven't met yet, then they'd do a paternity test

I would say they definitely had implications to the future, we're not talking about some random lower class people having a child.

It's also not in Ned's nature to whore about, so it's hard for me to believe that he did that.

I feel Bran's journey will reveal the truth about Jon Snow...since there is no one alive that was there to know who his mom is.

Stayed out of this thread because my a-hole book reader friend ruined it for me and didn't want to do the same to anyone else.

About that beetle story:

Beetles = Characters
Slow Cousin = George R.R. Martin
Tyrion = Viewers

Thats what I think is happening. If he kills Tyrion and The Hound off I want to say I''l stop watching but you all know that is a lie.

One thing about this show is that they've done an excellent job of making us care about characters in a short period of time. I think we'd find new/different characters to root for, and the one positive if Tyrion gets killed off, is it would cement Cersei as someone you want to see die a painful death. When Joffrey died, Cersei had been somewhat marginalized and wasn't ready to take his place as lead villain, but I think she's got her swagger back and will be enemy #1 for most fans if Tyrion dies.

only, Cersi to Kat

quote:

I lost my first boy, a little black-haired beauty. He was a fighter too… Tried to beat the fever that took him. Robert was crazed, beat his hands bloody on the wall, all the things men do to show you how much they care. The boy looked just like him. Such a little thing… A bird without feathers. They came to take his body away and Robert held me. I screamed and I battled, but he held me. That little bundle. They took him away and I never saw him again. Never have visited the crypt, never.

Bird=Check(crow/raven)(writer's hint)
Fighter=Check
Blackhair=Check
First Boy= Would have been the same age as Snow, who is 1 year older than Joffrey

Not a chance. Kat hated Jon so much because he looked more like Ned than any of her children
