I just rewatched the scene (Its the one in episode three where Tywin asks him to be a judge for Tyrions trial). Tywin talks about how Oberyn studied poisons and that it looks suspicious that Joffrey was poisoned just after an expert in the art of poisoning shows up in town.
That along with the info posted about his background on Hodor threads, Id say its fine to talk about.

quote:do you mean it wasn't explained in this episode? no it definitely wasn't. if it was explained it was earlier in the season
I could be wrong but I usually watch by myself and hang on every word.
Maybe you are thinking of his conversation with Tywin in the brothel right after joff died?

That's as close as we got to an explanation if I recall
Maybe the Mountain hasn't died, but will later...which leads to a draw and forces a 2nd trial by combat that can save Tyrion's life.

yeah, i never thought about it til you brought it up....and I thought for a split second you were talking about regeneration like a lizards tail.....and I was like WTF?
It could have been dropped, but I don't remember anyone talking about the reason.

I'm fairly certain it has not been explained on the show. But I always assumed what you are thinking.
Yeah, it seems pretty self explanatory.

No I know what you are saying. I know you aren't saying in this episode.
I'm saying that maybe it was that scene that makes you think it was earlier in the season.
Eta: what you just quoted is what I'm taking about

I wonder if they are going to climax the season next week like usual or if we'll get an actual "holy shite" finale instead of a wrapup one.

from the look of it, next week is going to be a full blown battle at the wall.
I bet episode 10 has more action than usual this year

Did anyone else think Sansa had dyed her hair when she came down the steps? Or was that just the lighting?

Looks black to me. I guess it's to avoid that "Tully red" speculation.

Yeah, after seeing next weeks preview it doesnt look like we'll get any resolution to Tyrion's situation until the finale.
Surely they cant just execute him, right?

Just watched it. Dear god. The awesomeness continues. Never a dull moment on GoT.

God damnit I knew when Oberyn was walking around the Mountain demanding a confession he was fricking up. His death was fricking brutal too. As someone who hasn't been fazed by anything in this show yet, that was hard to watch.
Also the scene with the Hound and Arya finding out about Lysa's death was goddamn hilarious. I was rolling before Arya even started laughing. I was kinda pissed we didn't get to see whether Arya and Sansa reunite.

At least he could have been hacking off limbs and shite while waiting for a confession. At least cut the dude's hands off or something, damn.
