If you watch the previews to next week, it shows Stannis talking to someone from the Iron Bank.

i actually had the mysteries and lore of westeros on this weekend for a bit and they covered that stuff. it's like pre-pre history of westeros

the children of the forest ran westeros, until the first men. they had a war. the truce was the children went into the forest and the first men ruled. this lineage led to the starks, and they worshipped the old gods. the trees have significance to all of that

the andals invaded next and took over, except the north. they brought the new gods (hence why the starks worship teh old gods)

LF is an opportunist, so while his ultimate goal is undoubtedly the crown, I think killing John Aryn was all about getting with Catelynn Stark. Sure Robert Boratheon would kill himself eventually the way he lived, but how could LF have predicted when he'd get killed by accident on a hunt? Drunken hunting seemed to be one of Robert's favorite activities. I think the plan was to have Ned follow the same path John Aryn did, kill him and blame it on the Lannisters, and then marry Catelyn to become King of the North and continue being an opportunist from there. Robert dying just accelerated his ascent to the Iron Throne.

I think so, although maybe it eventually comes out that Robert's death wasn't simply a drunken hunting accident, and LF was plotting that shite as well..? I hope not, because for whatever reason, I don't want LF to be big boss badass, but with the shite he's already apparently pulled, I wouldn't put it past him.

Pod and Brienne has the makings of a good road trip. It's interesting that they are headed to Castle Black

I must have missed it, why are they going to Castle Black?

I think it's the same type of tree. Perhaps they are all connected somehow.

I believe they are called Weir trees and they hold a significance to the old gods and thus to the people of the north.

My memory's a bit fuzzy, Cersei's cousin/lover was Robert's servant responsible for keeping his cup full. IIRC someone, although I don't think it was LF, basically told him to keep the wine flowing in close proximity to the hunting trip.

Brienne said because that's where her last remaining brother, Jon Snow is, it's the logical place she'd head.

They are looking for Sansa, and believe that she may be going to Castle Black to meet up with Jon.

Dany is now like "frick Westeros, I'm going back to help the slaves and be a queen over here." What the bloody frick? I am officially off the Dany bandwagon and hope she dies and that whole storyline across the narrow sea ends VERY fricking soon. Oh, and I can't fricking stand the new Daario dude for some reason. He sucks.

Yeah that pissed me off because I want her to get to Westeros ASAP and join in on the war. Maybe something will happen to change her mind soon

I'm surprised Arya still hasn't gotten over Hound killing her doughboy padna. She needs to grow the frick up and realize how awesome Hound is and how he is her best chance to survive (instead of plotting to eventually kill him).

Yeah and line someone said her learning of his saving of Sansa might help. Their scenes together are still the best

I am looking at a map of the GoT world, and I didn't realize how fricking far away Dany still is from everything.

Basically, if you can picture the entire world of GoT laid over a map of the continental United States. Qarth would be the Florida Keys. The Red Waste would be like the SEC states. Astapor, Yunkai, and Mereen: where they've been forever it seems like....those would all be like around LA/East Texas. So she's now staying there to rule as queen over Slaver's Bay (basically around Houston on the map). So she's not even fricking close to getting anywhere near Westeros.

BTW, to try to keep it to scale, The Narrow Sea would basically be like the area between the Rocky Mountains and the Sierra Nevada range, with Westeros being the western states.

So basically, from Qarth to where she is now...she's still not even a third of the way to Westeros.

I've seen people predicting this will be an 8 season show. The war with the WW would likely be the end of the series. We are in season 4. I can see the war with the WW happening over at most 2 seasons, 1 for everyone to mobilize and come together to fight and 1 for the actual battles. That means we have 2 - 3 more seasons before we get to see Dragon vs. WW action. Unless the plan is to have Daenerys take KL and then fight off a rebellion for a few seasons, they'll probably keep her away for a while.

Yep, the biggest moment was finding out that Petyr started all this shite by killing Jon Arryn

That was a great moment. Littlefinger is playing the long game and playing it well.

She's gonna have to hurry then:

If there are 8 seasons, and this is how far she's gotten so far, then she won't make it to Westeros until like season ten, and she's gonna get there and all the sets have been destroyed and the actors have moved on.

See Qarth in the bottom right, and Astapor/Yunkai/Mereen about 1/4 from right. Westeros and K'sL are labeled on the left. Also, I blacked out some of the key just in case there were spoilers in there (no idea if there were, but just in case).

BTW, looking at maps of all of this is pretty cool. I found/figured out the layout of the 7 Kingdoms based on a map and a list of the seven. It's interesting to see where everything is happening in relation to one another. Just be careful as some maps have spoiler shite on them (especially any interactive ones you may find, though they're usually labeled as spoilery).

I agree. That bitch is too crazy to keep around. Plus she is ugly as hell. Littlefinger brought Sansa along for a reason. He is like a chess master thinking 5 moves ahead of his opponent.

He's "climbing the ladder" for sure.

And just a reminder of how badass that scene was: Chaos is a ladder.

Talking about the throne:
Varys: Ugly old thing.
LF: And yet, it has a certain appeal.
Varys: The Lysa Arryn of chairs.

Littlefinger is such a badass. Im curious if everyone likes him, or if there are still harsh views toward him for the Ned thing.

I can't fricking stand him (which you're not supposed to IMO). But he's a great character.

Agreed, but look at how far she still has to go even if she sails to Blackwater Bay (which is what they were talking about last night).
