Come on...she is always ragging on Robb and treating him like a child. Then she is a total bitch to Brienne when she is reincarnated.

I don't think annoying is the proper term...I'd like to think of Catelyn very judgmental and snobby. She hated Jon and bastards in general, even though one helped her climb/ensured her safety to the Eyrie to see her crazy arse sister. Hell, she even wished Jon dead as an infant...in that sense, and especially after reading Catelyn POV chapters, she's almost no better than Cersei in the sense that they only care about their children.

Hell, even then, Catelyn left little Rickon and Bran in Winterfell to help her oldest raise hell across Westeros and took Tyrion prisoner with little reasoning/just because Littlefinger said it was Tyrion's blade.

I believe she stayed at Riverrun to see her dad.

I don't hate Cat, but I did often cringe when I got to her chapters. I just didn't like her viewpoint. She's incredibly judgmental (near Cersei levels) and a bitch to alot of people. Her treatment of Jon is pretty inexcusable in my opinion. She's a step above Cersei really, except not nearly as power hungry.

But she still didn't deserve to go that way. I did have some pity for her in the very end.

Littlefinger was always able to depend on his precious little Cat.

The RW improved her character enormously, IMO. The fewer lines the better.

Al Swearingen said it best, "You can't cut the throat of every cocksucker whose character it would improve."

Pretty much this. She's also pretty much directly responsible for getting Ned killed to a large extent between talking him into taking the position as Hand and kidnapping Tyrion which basically started the war.

Ned was dumb going to Cersei and giving her the heads up, but Cat and Sansa pretty much had him fricked otherwise anyway.

I don't like either of them, but Cersei is certainly more interesting.

Bitches be crazy.

And like we've all said, in many ways, Cat is no better than Cersei.

Cat is a bitch pure and simple.

1 - Hated Jon for something he himself had no control over.
2- Left her crippled child and her toddler child to traipse all over creation
3- Kidnapped an innocent Tyrion
4- Let Jamie go thereby dooming the Karstark alliance
5- Did a pretty poor job of raising Sansa
6- Decided to hang Pod and Brienne when she had taken the latter into her service.

as far as intelligence goes, i would agree

however, Cersei wanted to be in charge, Cat wasnt power-hungry

she was just dumb and self centered

What in particular did she do wrong here compared to her other children?

I thought that she let both of them go after Brienne yelled whatever word she said?

Well then she technically didn't hang them then.

As a practical matter, I think we can assume that Pod didn't "hang by the neck until dead". But I think Briennne saw him hanging next to her before she said the word IIRC.

We know Brienne survived and I know it's a fairly safe assumption that Pod was still alive (why else would Brienne agree to go to Jamie- I doubt she was worried about her own life enough to do that). If I remember correctly, there was a third person with them who WAS hung and died. It's been awhile since I read it though.

But that whole scene was kind of the finishing touches on any thoughts I had of Cat in a positive or sympathetic light.

GRRM confirmed that Pod is still alive. Hyle Hunt? not sure.
