Not really. The Purple Wedding and the Red Wedding are only separated by like 5 chapters. I think it can be done. You don't need as much time with the Purple Wedding as you do for the Red. I'm surprised they didn't dedicate an entire episode to this to be honest.

I'm talking about the Red Wedding. I don't think you really even need to show the ceremony, just cut to the feast at the end. Scenes necessary for the PW:

1) The luncheon when Joffrey chops Tyrion's book in half bragging about the Valyrian Steel.
2) Tyrion telling Sansa in the carriage (for the sake of telling the audience) that Joffrey tried to have Bran killed.
3) The reception itself. Remove the acts, the jousting dwarves, the number of dishes, and the dancing bear. I'd have Joffrey actually go through with his threat on serving Sansa Robb's head. Tyrion will flip his shite and threaten the king once more and make Joffrey look like an arse. Joffrey is then poisoned, and Tyrion is arrested.
4) Sansa is escorted out by Loras, who smuggles her to Littlefinger. Littlefinger explains why he killed Joffrey and then goes on his Game of Thrones speech.

4 scenes, nothing bigger than Tyrion and Sansa's own wedding.

And there's huge thunder storms here right now. Perfect environment for the wedding.

I have a friend at work that guesses things way too accurately to not be a book reader. Things he couldn't possibly guess.

I know we found one false hodor. But there have to be some over there now. The type that acts like they are smarter than the average bear and know exactly what the writer will do. GRRM is a hard writer to figure out.

Tyrion is too prime of bait. I doubt they'd notice Loras that much at least until the next day, where Cersei may suspect, but the rest will look at her as simply being crazy, when she'd be right for once.

The Hodors are expecting the worst. I just hope it exceeds their worst expectations.
