I know, I said I wouldn't post. But they spent almost two pages afraid to say the term and it's meaning and once it's said someone who read the wrong definition on a blog tries to keep the misinformation going.

What Psych Tiger said is the truth.

Gotta be careful nonreaders, if you pay to much attention to the show you might see or hear a "spoiler". I think it's best to avoid the show entirely and just make things up from this point forward.

Napoloen and Sid speak High Valyrian. You may as well try arguing Vulcan idioms with a 40 year old Trekkie.

Just pointing out erroneous info. I could expand on where he likely went wrong if you like. Hint <<spoilerz>>

I'd just like to reiterate that we don't really need clarification from readers. On anything. Let us bask in our ignorance and figure shite out on our own...we'll eventually get it. Doesn't matter if we talk about wrong shite for page after page; we'll get it straight eventually. That's half the fun anyway.

And that "winner" gif is out fricking standing.

I like the thought of certain book readers stroking out Lewis Black-style as they read our misguided ramblings.

and yes, that gif is awesome. I had to watch it cycle through a couple times. I want to see the full Mortal Kombat fight with the wheelchair cripple.

I just don't get it. I don't understand why it matters if something was clarified by a book reader or non-reader as long as the information used to clarify was strictly from the show.

I completely get that you don't want clarifications, information, or explanations from anything not explicitly stated in the show, but something like this is really a non-issue. Oh well. Coco, the other thread does not talk about the show. That is why I am here if you are wondering. I am not trying to come show my knowledge, correct people, or anything like that.

Nothing, just that you were incorrect in your assessment of what the phrase meant. It has already been clarified (with information directly from the show I might add )

I think if a reader said something like "remember in Episode X when the witch fricks a unicorn...." without giving some condescending lecture, there would be less suspicion. It's when people just speak with bland authority or attach rude comments to their clarifications that non-readers say "frick off, we've got it."

I agree. There needs to be an extremely high level of restraint used by folks posting in this thread if they know more than what the shows have revealed, but let's focus on the posters that break the rules, rather than just blindly going after "known book readers".

For me (and I'll only speak for me), it's just a matter of that this is a thread not meant for readers. So I don't need clarification from readers because they shouldn't be in here in the first place. I agree with you that clarifying something based solely on show information isn't a big deal, but don't understand why readers (who obviously are familiar with the source material and are able to notice discrepancies more easily) feel the need to point out things or correct us. It seems like readers are dying to post in here and when they see a nonreader say something incorrect they can't wait to come in here and correct them. I simply don't understand why readers (as a general term even though not all of you do it) can't let us figure it out on our own. Especially when that's what we'd rather do (figure shite out amongst ourselves).

Why not? That's exactly what it's for...a place for book readers to talk about the show. Just like this one is for nonreaders to discuss the show. And aside from us trying to keep readers in their own threads, that's what we do.

But as we've said over and over, those who "break the rules" don't stay out. So it ruins it for you guys who are readers who are good at restraining yourselves. So that reverts back to the easiest solution of "no readers at all."

Fwiw, when I say no readers allowed, I say that knowing that it includes some of you that don't really deserve it. But unfortunately that's kinda how it has to be at this point.
