Go and watch the first 4 episodes of every other season. Nothing EVER fricking happens.

i just rewatched the whole series

and i'm not bitching about progress. i'm saying that they're forcing shite. forcing characters. forcing jokes. forcing concepts. it's becoming more of a rote serial and it's lost a great deal of its gravitas.

but this season has had A LOT more early season action than any other.

that may be the main problem, if you want to put it that way

they're not building as much as just having people doing stuff and finding intricate ways to ensure certain characters get screen time (like jaime this episode). it's just not close to the quality of seasons 1-4

should i be freaking out over seeing CGI tits like the Hodors?

This isn't the episode to complain about that.

they still forced a completely unnecessary example in this episode. i specifically spoke of that example

Marg and her brother. High Sparrow and Marg.

i did speak of KL

those scenes you listed were good. the one with the king was good. the one with the small council was eh

They had to get here there first.

one scene with the khals and the final scene was all that was needed for that

they could have just had her told while walking she had to go to the dosh kaleen (sp) to atone for not originally going

then cut to the judgment scene. nothing else was needed and the rest was filler to get dany screen time

Many people think that ALL they've been doing up to this point is "building". People talking in rooms. A few heirs killed their lords and jon woke up. Other than that?

They're forcing Tyrion. That's it.

Happy you didn't include S5 because I could have blown that argument up. I honestly don't remember the specifics of the earlier parts of S1-4 (although the true King Lord Joffrey Baratheon's death came early), but there's a lot going on right now so I can't complain, even if it hasn't been done to perfection. I do agree the Jaime had no real point in this episode. They may have well have had him walk past the nude Khalisi with him saying "HEY REMEMBER ME I'M JAMIE".

Took me a minute to figure out what you were talking about (not because I'm tarded, I have a shitty memory and that Troy game happening that long ago makes me feel old).

Can you at least agree that the first 4 episodes of the first non-GRRM season are a lot more interesting than the first 4 episodes of the final GRRM written season? Plus I think we're getting more Carcetti next episode!!

So what's the issue? I agree with one thing you're about to say (Tyrion's dialogue is NOT up to snuff). But what else? Dany not only finally did something useful, but she actually showed her tits again (apparently legit). Littlefinger did some work. Robin Arryn finally graced us with his (post pubescent) presence. What more do you want?

more set up. instead of intricate egos clashing with egos while they plot against each other, it's just like a roller coaster of events. the high sparrow scenes are great because they are manifestations of what made GOT great. multiple people trying to angle on each other and we don't know how the knot will be unwound

the ramsay stuff is a good example. he's just killing killing killing. if that was isolated to him? ok

but we had that in dorne, almost in the vale, mereen (the ships), etc. crazy, shock-value randomness has overtaken the intricacy. like i said in episode 1, the gravitas was left out. now we have it in some scenes, but then it's much lower quality in others. it's just become very uneeven when the previous seasons were pretty damn consistent in that regard

Call me crazy, but I think that you should make a Pros and Cons list about watching GoT.
